I can't listen to these guys announce Hodass without chuckling.

Bogdans Hodass was the illustrious winner of my Best Names in 2022 Draft contest (in 3-way tie with Boston Buckberger and Axel Mangbo).

It was was a contest in the sense that I chose the names that I liked the most. I didn’t say it was a fair contest.

I took a crack at this.

What does it take to make this list? Well just being foreign doesn’t make a name wacky and fun but it can happen.

Other than that, names that sound like cool D&D or Star Wars characters are highly rated. Names that sound like fictional characters from other sources go after that. Cool Italian names often make the list. Or just names that have some oomph or pizazz.

Someday Jagger Firkus will score a hat trick against the Devils and I for one will put aside my disappointment when I get to say he had no sympathy for the Devils

Attendance has been horrendous for this tournament, I originally thought that it was maybe limited attendance or just friends and family but apparently it's simply that nobody wants to go for numerous reasons...

2022 World Junior Championship: Where is the Crowd?
There's been a lot of talk in Canada over the last week or two that Hockey Canada is done for. There's a lot of talk that their regional branches are furious with them and talking about pulling out (with their member fees of course), and their sponsors have fled rapidly. They are going to have trouble building support for a tournament with all of this going on.

They'll all be better than Bratt
What are you doing?

Like seriously...what are you doing?

I am pointing out that it's two different positions WHICH IS FACT.

And making a viewpoint that was echoed by someone else that Luke can be better than Quinn.

Where the f*** did Bratt come from?

Is he playing in the World Juniors, too? Let's stick with the topic, shall we?

I'm guessing, and this is purely conjecture, that having it in August has an awful lot to do with it.

The fine people of Edmonton have like 2.5 months in which they can wear t-shirts outdoors.

I t doesn't help that most people tend to get there last Summer trips in around this time of year.

Hockey fatigue from the Oilers deep run could also play a part and I'm sure all the issues @Blender brought up are as well.

Perfect storm for no asses in the seats.

US Austria game underway.

And the US score. Kaiser from the point 54 seconds in.

Coronato scores, great feed from Cooley. 2-0 USA.

God the WJCs are bad, and they're even worse without Russia. If Austria loses by less than 10 it will be a miracle.
