I mean, not that you're wrong but how many excuses we gunna give for this guy lol.
Wouldn't say I gave excuses, I just don't like judging prospects negatively at 18 on small sample sizes hehe. I like Jiricek, but I did say he wasn't at his best. He has a pretty unique skillset, let's see if he can pull it all together.

Blinding throwing it to the front of the net after skating in deep. It's fine to do that as a center but I'm not a fan of a d-man doing that.
Ohhh yeah, I noticed that too. It's a fine play, but you have to be sure. He's definitively creative out there lol.

He hasn't been "at his best" for a while now. That's what I'm referring to. When will he be "at his best"?

Edvinsson reminds me somewhat of Hamilton. Big and moves at one speed. The game is easy for him but he lacks Hamilton’s offensive touch.
I know people aren't going to like it because everyone wants to hate everyone on the Rangers, but Edvinsson really reminds me of Jacob Trouba in a lot of ways.

First time I'm able to watch some of the WJC this year. Very much an up and down period for Luke. Still puts his head down way too much in transition, very frustrating as it leads to way too many throwing the puck away moments.

I haven't logged on here in awhile, but I felt the need to comment on how impressed I've been with the defense pairing of Luke Hughes and Brock Faber. To me, they've been the two best defensemen in the WJC thus far and their styles couldn't compliment each other more perfectly.

Faber is consistently overlooked -- I think he's the #3 defense prospect outside the NHL right now behind only Jiricek and Nemec. He's unbelievable without the puck -- at a Jake Sanderson-like level, even -- and he's far better with the puck than most realize.

As for Luke Hughes, well the kid just blows me away. His combination of skating, passing and puckhandling are the best we've seen out of the NHL Draft since probably Cale Makar. His ceiling is so high it's remarkable, and every indication is he's going to get pretty close to it.

I’m not seeing the physical play though. Edvinsson seems to try to use his reach and anticipation. He’s an excellent smooth skating defender.

Edvinsson is extremely physical. He's having a tough game tonight, but I wouldn't worry. Looks like he's trying to do too much. He was caught out of position and on his heels on the Berard goal. But again, lots of young defensemen get caught puck-chasing when their expectations for themselves are very high. Edvinsson is best when he stays within himself and concentrates on defense, the hitting game and transition.

Edvinsson is amazing at boxing out players. We also saw some flashes of his speed. He’s a tremendous prospect. It’s very rare to find players like him

It’s easy to see him playing well in the NHL as a smart steady partner for a more offensively biased partner. He should look great with Seider once he gets tht hang of the NHL.

It wasn’t up and down at all. He threw one puck into the middle of the ice from behind the net, but other that he’s been excellent. Helped set up the goal, drew a penalty, and has been sound defensively.

I thought it happened twice in the first period. And then he just did it again. He shows so much skill on those plays but he never looks up quick enough to make something happen on them
