WC: 2022 Women's World Championships

Japan goalie had 61 saves and stopped all 5 shootout attempts... that is a hell of an afternoon!
 
Poorly executed 3 on 1 (you could almost here the keystone cops theme) but it did get us a PP.
 
It's rare you see a PP with 2 minutes of zone possession and think 'not good' but that was the last PP.
 
Czechs with a shorthanded breakaway... nice Swiss save. 20 seconds later... Swiss score on PP.

4-2 Czechs and Swiss are up to 14 shots now... good period for them.
 
Amazed Swiss didn't score there... 2 huge chnces. They are dominating now!
 
Lutz with a strange penalty... looks like she took a shitkicking in the crease and got a penalty for it.lol

I think this tourney showed that 3 to 8 is VERY even and there is a lot of competition for the Bronze.

Beating a dead horse but they need to redo the pools as there is too much parity for a B Pool.

Both Semi's were blowouts so we're not preventing blwouts.lol

Happy to finally make A pool... now we will get 2 whippings from US and Canada which could benefit us down the road. Worst fear is that we finish third in pool and get Finland in the quarters.

Nice to see the celebration, that Mills girl must be over the moon, ten years as their captain and undoubtably has lived through some very lean times.

U18 - final 4 (Czech Coach)
Hlinka - Final 4 (Czech coach)
U20 - Final 4 (Czech coach)

Skoda cup - Bronze (Finn coach)
Women's worlds - Bronze (Canadian coach)

While nowhere near Canada or Finland type results... great year for Czech hockey and we got Kulich and Jiricek in round 1!

I think the big thing is who it may be able to inspire to play, the pool stuff is important but a dialed in commitment from the federation to improve on this and gain momentum is the real key.

I really don't see the gap between US/Canada closing anytime soon... Czech commentator is saying a lot of the Czech ladies have jobs. I assume it's the same for a lot of them?
 
Canada-U.S next. Canada will have to find a higher gear against them then they showed first game or it will be a very straightforward win for the Yanks.
 
Well... got our medal! It'll be pretty funny if Finn's knock us to B pool in a year ... ultimate revenge.

Good luck to Canada for a back to back or USA for 6 of last 7 Gold's.

Yeah, it is still a long way to climb. The next step for the Czechs is to firmly establish themselves as always one of the teams favoured for bronze like Finland, then you go from there.
