He lost Freeman because Freddie f***ed around and found out. He also managed to come out a winner in that situation because he got a younger 1B locked in long term to soften the blow.

I would not at all be surprised if he finds a way to lock up Swanson too. Georgia boy who was a key part to their world series team. Though he's likely going to command big money on the open market.
No. He lost Freeman because his agent was a shady person.

Didn't watch the game just saw the highlights, looks like they still were struggling to generate offense except for 1 inning, it's about time, but it was still only 1 inning out of how many innings lately... You hope they can build off this, but a lot of things factor in still, until I see more consistency I'm not going to start thinking everything is good again because they won a game. Even in the highlights they talked about Voth pitching 6 scoreless innings the most he's done in 2 years.

My point is pretty clear. AA was never staying here under Shapiro. That is literally my point. The second Shapiro was brought in the clock was ticking on AA. The idea of promoting AA to president is honestly ridiculous and just using hindsight. It was never even a discussion. He left here and took an assistant GM role and over the last 7 years has worked into the new role. This isn't me white washing what has or hasn't happened with Shapiro, but the amount of revisionist history that goes on with AA's tenure with this fanbase is honestly mind numbing. Like it has been 7 years....we can move on from AA now.
The best part about that revisionist history is that just before the trade deadline in 2015, most Blue Jay fans were calling for AA to be fired, because he'd missed the playoffs multiple years in a row and it looked like 2015 might be the same. Then he blew a huge hole in the Jays farm system to go for it, and magically became the greatest GM ever for a surprise 2 month run.

When did AA replace Pat Gillick as the best GM in Blue Jays history?

I'd be weary of signing Swanson to a big deal. Career year riding a sky high BABIP and his plate discipline hasn't improved. The defense will probably always be there, but I'm not buying that offense.

I think Grissom is their opening day SS next year.

Chance to get within 7 or 6 games of the Yanks here. Let’s say 7 games out, they can make up a game a week with 7 weeks left in the season. Very doable if they get back on track and play up to their potential. Let’s go!

That's a great play by Chapman. Baited the Yankees into taking the out at second instead of home.

Will happily trade an out for a run early in the game.

Correct me if i'm wrong but Montas has been kinda trash since being traded out of Oakland no?

Gotta wonder how much of his success was thanks to that toilet bowl of a ballpark.
