How do they avoid using Kikuchi or Berrios against Baltimore?
Ummm... Most of the same suspects do EXACTLY the same thing with the Leafs, you know...Man screw this thread. Can't wait until the Leafs let down the whiners here since that's where the majority of posters no one has heard from until now are coming from.
Everything sucks and the Jays are the worst team since the Cleveland Spiders. There. There's your thread.

Atkins is gonna be on the hot seat if they miss the playoffs.
He could’ve committed more in the offseason and then again at the deadline. Especially at the deadline when it was clear what the team needed.
Instead he went with a bunch of half measures, which while individually solid, didn’t really move the needle at all.
Have to think the players were a little disappointed by the deadline too and this has carried over a bit into their performances.
I don’t think they believe they’re ready to go on a long run and the cost to get #1 or 2 pitcher , the relievers and the lh bat was too much. Ithink they set their sites on the top WC spot and two or three home gatesAtkins is gonna be on the hot seat if they miss the playoffs.

They’ve made some solid individual moves but the jury is still out on their overall performance.Yeah, I'd fire him and Shapiro too if they miss but not sure they will with the renovation plans. But this team deserves an elite front office and they're too conservative for my liking.
I get being realistic but at some point you have to take the leap of faith with this roster, preferably before you lose cost control on guys like Teoscar.I don’t think they believe they’re ready to go on a long run and the cost to get #1 or 2 pitcher , the relievers and the lh bat was too much. I am glad he didn’t now that looks like were off the tracks. Let someone new look at upgrading this under performing team. Usually I’m all for emptying the cupboards.Atkins is gonna be on the hot seat if they miss the playoffs.

A decent portion of this board knew Berrios wasn’t reliable anymore and they needed another good starter. Ditto with Springer’s injury and needing another impact bat.

Oh him. I am not sure. I even looked at wikipedia. I can’t see reference to that.Anyone know when Jeff Luhnow's suspension is done?

Merrifield would probably pitch better than Berrios right now.You think the Royals will let him pitch for the Jays?
If he had made other moves maybe they wouldn’t be off the tracks right now.I am glad he didn’t now that looks like were off the tracks. Let someone new look at upgrading this under performing team. Usually I’m all for emptying the cupboards.
Berrios is brutal
Some bad/underwhelming moves from Atkins have been Ryu signing, Berrios trade, and the Springer signing.
Ryu had a good 1.5 years but has been bad. Berrios has been awful this year. Springer has been really good when he has played but injuries have plagued him.
The overall construction of the bullpen has been subpar as well.
Definitely a horrible, horrible signing.
It seems like Shatkins know absolutely nothing about building a team that has good pitching
Not excusing Berrios' play this season because it's mostly been brutal, but you do realize that Berrios was one of the most consistently good pitchers in the AL when he was traded for, right? Like this isn't them buying a toy out of the reclamation pile and hoping it works. He was the hottest pitcher on the market at least year's deadline and came in with a rep of being consistently very good (which he continued through his 12 outings with the Jays after the trade).
His implosion this year came from nowhere. And nobody can even point to exactly what's gone wrong with him because physically he hasn't shown any obvious signs of an underlying issue. He's just.... sucked for some reason.
