I think I'd prefer Zimmer in the lineup when they need someone in CF, but that's a nice looking lineup. Hopefully we get more games with both Kirk and Jansen in the lineup going forward.

You'll get Tapia and like it. We're getting Kirk/Jansen at the same time with no fuss so we have to accept the trade-off for that bit of fortune.

The reason id like to see a new hitting coach for the Jays is their poor approach at the plate the last two years. Sure they slumped early, but that happens. But even when they're doing well, they NEVER let a pitcher beat themselves. They can go full innings where the pitcher only gets one or two pitches in good hitting zones, but they still swing away. Aggressiveness is an approach in and of itself, but there's a difference when they KNOW the command is gone, and they make zero adjustments.

last season it worked they raked. top 5 in avg #2 obp#4 ops#1 and slugging. #1

this season we are starting from a slow walk hopefully by the end of the season we will be sprinting

i understand your point that they just swing even when the opposing pitcher cant keep it in the zone. that in its self cant be maddening

I think the team is going to have to be able to make adjustments come playoff time. If a pitcher loses command, or if a pitch is ruining them, they've gotta make adjustments. I think our approach is be aggressive and let the elite hitting ability take over. Overall imo the right approach, but you've gotta have adjustments or veteran teams will ruin them when it matters

Both last year and this year, the Jays are middle of the pack in terms of swinging at pitches outside of the zone while being one of the most aggressive teams when swinging at pitches in the zone.

Bo and Gurriel can both be hyper-aggressive, but as a team I just don't see it.

I just can't see any adjustments in approach game to game or pitcher to pitcher. That's not to say they're overly aggressive, like I said earlier I think this team should be aggressive. And them being aggressive doesn't mean bad at bats and strikeouts because they're good hitters - they still take balls and swing at strikes. Approach adjustments can also be about being MORE aggressive.

God damn. The balls always look so good coming off Chapman's bat but they just keep dying at the warning track. So frustrating

Vladdy can hardly hold the bat with his left hand. Worrisome
