I know both catchers weren't playing the other day because Jansen was nursing something, but I hope tonight's game incentivizes Charlie to use his backup catcher as DH a little more often when they're healthy. We're losing this game if Kirk isn't DHing

Did Tabler just say using your other catcher as your DH hamstrings you as you can't pinch hit for them? Except for some platoon catcher situation(which the Jays don't have) the reason you want to use your other catcher as the DH is because he's just best bench hitter. Why would you want to pinch hit for him?

The pinch running aspect I can see, but it's not worth using a inferior hitter 4 times a game because once every 4 games you end up in a spot where you'd like to pinch run for someone in a spot and can't

How do you even choose which one of Jansen, Moreno or Kirk to move when Moreno is ready? They are all sooo good.

I think you keep all 3. You don't have to put pressure on Moreno to be a regular right away and you can rotate them around a bit between C and DH and I think Moreno's played some 1st in the minors as well.

But don’t you think Moreno would need regular at bats to develop him?

I think you can find regular ABs for everybody using basically 2 and a half positions to rotate them in and out of the lineup.

Then you can make a decision on who to trade in the off-season when the market would be more in the Jays' favor.

2nd time in a week that's happened. That might be on the guy on 3rd for not hustling but damn 2nd base isn't that important that you risk burning the run

Hail mary back foot attempt right on the mark.

Unreal

And LOL it was McGuire not crossing the plate in time

Not the first time Gurriel's made basically that exact throw (the last time was to home instead of 2nd, but it was the same sort of back-foot throw from the warning track)

and Reese clearly blew his load on the hit earlier and now he had nothing left in the tank.
