Kirk hits too many balls on the ground. He can't do that and be successful in the long run, imo.

I doubt he can be succesful in the long run unless he gets more fit. I don't think there's a place for him as a DH with power Ortiz style since he's too small. I think he would need to lose some weight to have a long career no matter what.
 
Byproduct of their obp rate though. Rays and Os don’t hit into as many DPs because they don’t get on base at nearly close to the same clip. Dodgers are the anomaly in the sense that they’re just way too good at everything offensively.


That's some part of it, although the Nationals, Cubs, and Reds are near the top in GIDP but all middle of the pack in OBP. And O's are 2nd last in GB% (ahead of the Dodgers)

Jays get on base, hit a ton of GBs, and don't have fast runners

Easy to see the ump was waiting to make that call.
 
He’s definitely not biased, just incompetent lol. Calls a balk and then calls several questionable strikes.
