If the Canucks clear cap space, I could see them trying to sign a top RHD free agent.

I would love for Fitz to ink Andrew Copp. He would be the ideal 3C behind Hughes and Hischier. I would also like to get Josh Manson to replace Subban. He would bring some much needed grit to a soft cast of blueliners in Hamilton, Severson, Graves, Siegenthaler and Smith.

Fitz has to completely revamp our 3rd line and Andrew Copp is the exact type of player that fits the style of game we're looking to play in regards to our bottom #6. If we can somehow find someone to take Tatar, who has one year left at 4.5M$, that would be an addition by sutraction. As for Andreas Johnsson, there was a lot of smoke about Arizone being interested, mostly because of his contract, so that would take care of 2/3 of that line. Pavel Zacha is a likely candidate to get moved as well this offseason and if all those guys get moved, that also frees up close to 9M$ of cap space.

I'd give Copp a 5M$ X 5 years. If he wants more cash, I'd lower the term and vice-versa. As for Manson, something around 3.5M$ X 4 years.

El Nino would also be a solid pickup but I think he'll be asking a little too much for what he brings and where he is in regards to his career.

My wishlist for Detroit:

Copp - 5 years 5.2 mil AAV
Trochek - 4 years 5.5 mil AAV (if Copp doesn't sign)
Palat - 4 years 5 mil
Burakovsky - 4 years 5 mil (If Palat doesn't sign)
Klingberg - 6 years 6 mil AAV (Might be the only way to get him)
Chiarot - 3 years 4 mil
Zadorov - 3 years 4 mil (as backup if Chiarot doesn't sign)
Kuemper - 3 years 5 mil
Campbell - 4 years 4.5 mil (If Kuemper doesn't sign)

First choices = 25.2 million. Detroit has more than enough cap space to make that work.

You really have a poor opinion of Seattle do you? Lol Palat and Klingbert 7 years.... that'd be ridiculously insane.

Then Copp, R. Smith 8 years? If those lengths happen, hats off to you sir.
Have to say I would be surprised if we sign anyone for that much term or $$. My guess is Francis gets 1 or 2 of the mid-level FA's on 3-5 year deals for under $6M AAV and then uses his draft capital to swing some other roster players.

As a Kraken fan, I am not expecting our team to land pieces that make us much better next season. Maybe moved from bottom-5 to bottom-10 but that would be about it. Biggest improvement for us would be to get a more competent coaching staff.

Palat & Niederrieter are interesting, especially if we move Boeser/Garland/Miller for assets & have capspace to bring in one of them as a replacement FWD.

On defense there isn't alot. Klingberg is going to get a huge deal. Manson will probably be overpaid (and not sure how good he is). Subban is over the hill. Justin Schultz & Colin Miller are interesting names, but like Manson not sure how good they are or what they'll command. Colin Miller especially.

Deslaurier & Mikheyev are 2 names I like as bottom 6 target. Nichushkin too though he'll probably command a premium.
