Not sure that site is totally accurate. I noticed Connor Murphy on the list but he has a 4 year deal starting, for instance.

There is not much out there this year other than some big names traded at deadline. It’s mainly role pkayers and depth players.

will likeky see more trades at the draft allowing teams to clear some space fir RFAs to sign

One of the unspoken rules in sports is never let a guy hit free agency you can't afford to lose. There's quite a few players I'm surprised to see haven't been renewed yet

Is it safe to assume the big names sign with their old teams? Giroux, Forsberg, Malkin, Gaudreau...

Still, some interesting names....

Palat
Domi
Niederreiter
R.Smith
Mikheyev
Burakovsky
Trocheck
Strome
Kadri
Klingberg
Perron
Rakell
Zadorov
Copp
Chiarot
Rust
Athanasiou
Vatrano
Nichuskin
Kane
Jarnkrok
Marchment
Kessel
Barbanov
Rodrigues
Namestnikov
Giordano
Blackwell
Manson
Hinostroza
Goligoski
Desluaries

Plus a couple potential potential Group 6 guys who could be good, like Zboril and Middleton.

And some buyout candidates who aren't worth their current salaries but could be useful role players on cheap contracts, guys like JVR, Meyers, Lucic, Foligno...

Subban and Giroux probably at the tops, unless Giroux is signing back with the Flyers.

Malkin is coming back to Pittsburgh, for sure.

As a Pens fan, let me take a look at the bottom players of this list since our clown of a GM enjoys dumpster diving.

I dunno, I kind expect Kadri to be this year's version of the guy who everyone expects to be massively overpaid which kinda scares teams away and he only ends up with your typical UFA albatross, which then seems downright reasonable

It's not often that a guy gets traded and then re-signs back with his old team. Maybe Giroux would, but given his age and the current state of the Flyers, I could see him looking for a better opportunity to win, especially if he doesn't win a cup this year.

Unless he wants like 1mill AAV nope lol. We are still discussing on our board who to even trade away to make room for who needs to be resigned.
Other than possibly Minnesota can't see a better fit for him than his current team then.

It's a super interesting free agency class because there are a lot of big names out there, but most of the contenders are truly cap-strapped. The easy money is on most of these guys going to lower end teams to get a payday, but I'm sure we'll see a couple of surprises for guys re-upping with their current teams and taking less money. You have some teams as well like Carolina and Calgary with a boatload of space/flexibility, but most of that money will be taken up with re-signings. I got my popcorn ready.

I don't think Subban is getting anything close to 9 million this time around, if he even signs.
I think Subban will sign 2-3 years around $4mil (probably more but I think even this value is a stretch).
