WJC: 2022 Team USA Roster Talk

On the TSN World Junior Preview Show, Bob McKenzie said that rosters must be declared for all teams on December 15th, followed by a 48 hour quarantine and then another bubble arrangement. It is likely that Bordeleau and Behrens would not be cleared by Dec. 15, and thus will not be able to participate.

This is also why media keep saying that NHL players cannot be loaned later than Dec. 15.
 
Poor kid. Second year in a row. What a brutal luck. Fingers crossed that this time he has enough time to be part of this team. Any idea what kind of protocols IIHF has this year?
 
It should be negative test before leaving and then they probably test again when they arrive. That is my best guess.
 
Also does anyone know the NCAA treating rules? That could help us find out when he tested positive. It could be less than a week given he played last weekend and missed this weekends games making it close given my experience
 
Based on how the camp is looking so far today. I put the numbers on there so we can start getting used to them. I am happy they let them have high numbers this year.

Wondering what impact Covid is going to have for World Juniors for the fans. Are they still going to allow fans into the arenas?

Sanderson is a stud. In a big game both he and Faber will be close to 30 mins I bet.

Technically yes and no. He is out this year with an injury. Hopefully he doesn’t have Bordeleau luck so he can suit up next year.
 
If you are now symptom-free, you can provide proof of a positive COVID-19 molecular test when crossing the border, instead of a negative one.

The test must have been taken at least 14 and no more than 180 days before.

I also read something on sanctioned Amateur sports and their exemptions, but the whole thing is confusing to me to be honest…

These rules mean he would easily make it before Christmas if he doesn’t test negative before that I guess…

I thought the cut off was the 15th due to Covid?
 
That is the cut off to submit rosters and that could be the case. They may not allow you to name him to the team and join once he hits those requirements is my guess.

As I’ve said above, if he can’t make it on the 15th to undergo the 48 hour quarantine and then subsequently join the bubble he will not be allowed to play.
 
We will see. If all he has is COVID two weeks before the tournament, I think he’s playing most likely. There’s no way the rules are going to be as strict as last year.
 
Who will wear the ‘C’, Beniers or Sanderson?

Both are definitely worthy only one can dawn it.

We will soon find out the rules. My buddy’s brother asked Coronato and apparently the rules aren’t completely clear, but you may not be able to report past a certain date due to quarantine etc but who the heck knows. As they always say “the goal post is constantly moving on Covid” LOL
