I am hoping that I won't be missing my son coming back at Christmas for the second straight year(he's in Canada, I'm in the US). We won't know till he gets the result of his $300 Covid test at the airport.

It would be a huge bummer for the kids if the WJC gets cancelled, but by now, we have to be used to disappointment, if not worse than that.
300$ covid test lol? talk about ripping the public off jesus

TSN said that there could be pre-tournament games on Christmas Eve. That sounds very good to me.
It's better than 0 games or the tournament being cancelled for sure.

Not much rest or time to enjoy Christmas for these guys. They'll be rushed like never before in this tournament. I need to check out how many games in how many days..

They need to take the rational/NFL approach to this. Stop testing vaccinated people. They're fine. If we don't stop now with everyone vaccinated then do we ever stop? Look at Steve Yzerman's comments from the weekend.

Ehh, they're young. They grow up going to Tournaments that demand that they play multiple games in one day.

Bourgault on the top line. Wonder if it's for real or if they're just trying to get Guenther going.

They should just skip Bourgault all together and put Bedard there.
Guy has one of the best shots on the planet. Who cares about the age? He out preformed Guenther at the u-18’s last year anyway.

I personally think Bourgault is a better player than Guenther anyway, but what do I know.

I'd like to see Bedard tried there as well, or at least in the top six. He has more skill than anyone in the lineup. I think he'll get there at some point.

With the Olympic tournament basically rendered irrelevant, the WJC has become the whole show for this winter. Hoping that come Boxing Day things are ready to go.

Was hoping they would give Bedard a chance. Especially with how well he played in the tryouts.

want to see

Johnson Mactavish Bedard

Haven't seen much of Sourdif and he is riding shot gun on a very good line. What should I expect in his game?

That is the line I want to see as well.

Bourgault is going to have a monster tournament, that guy is so silky and strong on the cycle. His board play was shockingly good in the NHL preseason and he’s been piling up the points with his junior team.

I do agree that hopefully Bedard gets some big minutes with quality linemates, he was unreal at the U-18s.

Losing out on those pre-tournament games hurts a guy like Bedard who needs to make his case. I wouldn't expect that much from him this year but hopefully he does get some minutes in one of the early games. I don't really like how they set the lines up but we'll see. These things pretty much always change, at least in years where the team faces some adversity.

I won't pretend to know all that much about Sourdif but that's exactly the spot he was projected to fill. Winger on a gritty checking line.

Not the lines I would go with, but whatever. By FAR the best offense in the tournament no matter how you organize it.
I don't know a lot of the Russian guys very well but aren't they supposed to be very strong up front this year?, like on par or maybe even better?
