its a crime if leo carlsson is not on the team. The guy looks amazing in SHL. Dosent matter if he is only 16. The best players should play.

But yeah monten wants Elliot Ekmark or someone instead .:ha:

I would not bet on any of them being full time NHL players by the time the tournament starts. First month is always the easiest.

I think Raymond stays put the entire season - Holz and Eklund I'm not sure.

There's always a scenario where a player gets to play the WJC even if he's been in the NHL. Thinking of Oscar Möller for instance, I'm sure there's more recent examples but it's the one sticking with me.

Eklund just played his 9th game. He is almost certainly staying in San Jose, either with the Sharks or the Barracuda. Although he's not tearing it up, he still has 4 points in 9 games, and with some luck would have a goal or two. Whether a compliment to him, or a comment on the sharks lack of depth, Eklund has been one of their best 12 forwards, and with the team being competitive so far I doubt he gets loaned.

Raymond has 10 points in 11 games. He is not getting send down. Holtz is 50-50.

Maybe Liam Dower Nilsson can gnabb a spot. He is looking good in SHL.

Wallstedt
Clang
Ollas

Edvinsson - Nyström
Wallinder - Lööf
Andrae - Olsson
Grans

Olausson - Eklund - Holtz
Rosen - Niederbach - Lysell
Sjödin - Carlsson - Nybeck
Ljungman - Dower Nilsson - Stjernborg
Magnusson

Niederbach is injured. Looks like a concusion. Why is that year after year we always lose key players to injuries and stuff? the hockey gods hates us

That’s worrying. Think Eklund gets sent down soon though. With none of the big 3 it will be tough.
As a Devils fan, I can say the plan is most likely not to keep Holtz up with the big club in the long term. He got called up because of key injuries and because the PP is struggling. Will be interesting to see what happens, but I’m pretty sure that if he’s in the AHL in a few weeks, which I think is likely, he’ll be sent to the WJC. If he’s still with the big club, then I doubt he’s sent. But as I said, I think he’ll be up for a few weeks only.

Holtz playing the WJC seems pretty ideal. As a Rangers fan, I hope he doesn't score too many NHL goals this season :).

Maybe not this season, as he doesn’t really have a spot in the top 6 right now unfortunately. Maybe when Hughes come back. But in the next few years, watch out ;)

Is Theo Jacobsson likely to at the very least get a camp invite or is he too far off the radar for this years team?

He would probaly do a decent job on a 4th line. But i dont think he will even get a invite to the camp. There is lots of good players in competition.

Lots of talk about Edvinsson but Wallinder, Grans and Andrae is having hell of a season aswell. Those 4 as our offensive dman then throw in more defensive-minded ds in Olsson/Lööf/Nyström/Styf and its a great d-corp.
