So that's not a decision that could have been made earlier like with Holtz and Raymond? f***ing San Jose, same thing with him and Djurgården last year :cry: Glad they didn't draft any of the Djurgården boys this year, an organization run by amateurs

The 2002 generation were our best shot at gold in a while. We probably have better 02s than any other country, even Canada. With Raymond, Holtz and Eklund we would be gold favorites, but not anymore. It does really suck. Have to hope Wallstedt carries us to gold somehow then.

I don't mind Öhgren at all, i'd probably do the same. Östlund should also be on this team though.

Ostlund has fantastic chemistry with Lekkirimaki, im surprised it wasnt Ostlund added but Ohgren.

I would have expected that Eklund being a centre would have been replaced with another centre in ostlund

That being said, Ohgren is a versatile forward that can play up and down the lineup and I think he'll be very effective in the tournament especially against more rugged teams

I still see us as bronze medalists.. holtz, Raymond and eklund would ofc be the best line in the tournament and it really sucks we will play without them, but i sure we will play good without them. We still have Lysell, Olausson, Wallstedt and Edvinsson that Will be the best players in the team

There's nothing wrong with Öhgren of course, he should be on the team.

However, I can very clearly see Montén playing him in a merry-go-round 4th line. Now, there's still a spot open(for a forward), but unless Montén has stopped being Montén I see him starting with something like:

Olausson - Ljungman - Lysell
Stakkestad - Niederbach - Sjöberg
Rosén - Stjernborg - Lekkerimäki
Torgersson - Magnusson - Sjödin - Öhgren

With Öhgren/Magnusson swapped at times for the last forward to be added to the roster.

Why do you guys keep talking about Raymond. He is a full time NHL player. Those guys don't typically play in WJC at that point. If Canada and USA did the same and took their NHL players like your talking for Sweden then your favorite talk would go out the window.

Raymond has strength/mass building to focus on before training camp for the Detroit Red Wings. The only time the majority of these players (exeption of fortunate gentics) can add significant muscle mass is during the off season. His priorities are now shifted from highlighting his talents to make the NHL to maturing himself as a NHL player. Playing to much hockey burns a ton of muscle. Muscle is an energy source. Yes, I do know what I'm talking about as I've held significant standing in this department for 13 years and counting.
