Reaves knocked Hrdnak (sp?) out of the game with a high hit to the head. No penalty called but I won't be surprised if the NHL fines him.

North Star colors is strange seeing as they moved to Dallas

They may as well loan the Jerseys to Dallas for a game seeing as the Canes have worn Whaler Jerseys before

He went head hunting and charged from thirty feet away to do it. The league should suspend him for at least two or three games. (Those North Star retros are unbelievably good.)

I didn’t think the hit was that bad personally. Unfortunate outcome but I think Hronek didn’t help himself out at all.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that hit. Reaves plants his feet and doesn't jump into the hit.

principle point of contact is the head though which is a no no

One the second angle looks to me like principal point of contact is Reaves elbow into Hronek's shoulder, than Reaves shoulder gets Hronek's head.

I find it hard to blame Reaves when 2 seconds before the impact Hronek is carrying the puck forward while looking over his shoulder and never sees Reaves coming straight at him.

the other thing that's important that the league will be reviewing tape for - Reaves and Hronek got into it prior to this, so there's precedent that Reaves was looking for him and therfor there is intent to injure

You know, I used to like Ovie.

Obviously, he's a prolific scoring machine.

He's big, he's got a mean streak, he can take it, and he can certainly dish it out.

He's a winner.

Unfortunately, I've come to view him as a prick nonetheless.

Remember when Ovechkin called his head coach (jolly old Bruce Boudreau, who was a sight to see in his red long underwear on HBO's 24/7) a "fat f***" on the bench within earshot?

No?

Or, as the classy Capitols captain whose ability to lead by example rivals Zdeno Chara and Patrice Bergeron, perhaps you recall Alex offering his rookie goaltender words of encouragement after a tough loss,

Ovechkin Yelling at Samsonov Has Many Questioning His Leadership

Congratulations, Ovie. You're quite a guy.

Say hey to Vlad for me,
