I havent looked it up but havent they averaged like a coach every year or two since?

I know its been a revolving door. Talk about chaos.
Even more so the front office keeps getting redone. It’s a disaster of a franchise right now and that pleases me.

I hate his stupid playoff set-up but there is no denying this man has made the NHL very powerful .The man knows how to make money so hats off to him on a wonderful award because 30 years at same job is not easy. Congratulations Gary.
Agree, the current playoff format is garbage and keeping his pet project Coyotes in Arizona. Other than that, Bettman has had a great run as commish

Marty...as in the former mayor of Boston?

Lmao uh. Uh...

I guess its true. Non qualified people really into positions.
Marty's got his flaws, for sure, but he is absolutely qualified.

Also rumored to be a candidate for the President's next Chief of Staff.

Labor Secretary doesn't qualify you to serve as a union's executive director?

agreed.

Politics aside his entire adult life has been as a laborer and part ofUnion Labor in a variety of roles.

He has the resume and experience. Whether he’d be good in this role , who knows?
But to question if he’s qualified isnt sound.

My sole point in posting. Like you said, I have no idea if he'd be good in the role, but he certainly knows his labor law.

Same thoughts I had when Charlie Baker randomly joined the NCAA after being governor here.

I don't see them real fits for the roles that are required for the job. It means nothing to me that he's serving the president or has been a long member with the union. The guy is a tool and shady and I'll leave it at that.

Good luck to him if that's the role he wants and they want him too.

I don't think Marty is good enough to sit at the table of NHLPA.

That's fine! :)

I never liked the guy. Found him to be very rude off camera. And I've been in his presence a dozen times. First time I chucked it up to being overwhelmed by people or nerves. But from then on it was the same old interaction. Many people I know who work or worked with certain unions don't have good things to say either.

But I know overall he has the support of the unions overall. So my opinion of him doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. I don't think he should be involved in sports. Same way as Baker. But again, my opinion doesn't matter haha. Good luck to him!
