So with the Kraken leading the Canucks 3-0 last night, Oleskiak answered Schenn's challenge for a fight. Seattle wound up winning 6-1. Every time people dare bring up a Bruin dropping the gloves up 1-0, 2-0, 10-0 you're always told "you don't want to fire up the other team or let them get back in the game" even when it's vs the trash of the league like Philly or San Jose. It's just a terribly weak argument.

Low quality from what I have read here.
fantatics is awful the shirts are made out of tissue paper.

Oleksiak challenged meyers first because he cheapshotted Beniers. Meyers deffered to schenn.

Completely different situations. Seattle was trying to getting revenge.

But they were winning 3-0. not the time. Let the league handle it. Get him another time. These are all things I read here a lot. Again not a big deal overall, I just hate the "wake up the other team" nonsense.

Poor Schenn has to step in and defend that because a guy who's 6'8" refuses to handle his own business

Sad right?

You read that when it’s 3-0. Not when it’s 3-0 and someone just took a cheapshot at your best young player.

Apples and oranges.

Just quoting things I’ve read here in the same situation over the years.
There’s a difference though Lou. If Deslauriers had run McAvoy and injured him no one would be saying we shouldn’t go after him regardless of score. The flip was Greer hit D’Angelo with a clean hit and Deslauriers started freaking out. That’s a much different situation and not a bell that needs answering.

Donato, 6-1 Kraken over Canucks early 3rd

Donato now has 12 goals, 20 points in 40 games. He's also a +17. Has 23 takeaways and only 8 giveaways.

Comparable to Trent Frederic. 10 goals, 18 points in 44 games. +19.

Both play less than 12 minutes a game, both center that don't play center much anymore.

...and one was most likely going to ask to be resigned in his home town to a contract disproportionately larger than his contribution and experience at the time warranted.

Good on Ryan for learning the hard lesson and making a career. But I do not think trading him was the wrong decision:

Apparently the apology from Jack to maroon didn’t go well. Who knows if it’s true

Just discussed this with another user on here offline.

My view FWIW-

Jack apologized on the following broadcast post the comments (maybe those were forced but he still did it). He also noted he had attempted to make contact with Pat to apologize.

Then the first chance he gets in person, he goes out of his way to talk to the guy and apologize. That in itself is worthy of everyones respect- Idc what you think of Jack (believe me he annoys me at times as well). Thats a very stand up move.

Unfortunately, IMO this has become more about people just hating Jack as a broadcaster more than the comments he made.

/rant.

Back to the original premise. Someone ran an analysis a couple of years ago, and statistically the staged fight off of the faceoff has no impact on who scores the next goal. Utterly meaningless towards the outcome of the game. Although 50% of the time, the team who is losing scores the next goal, and the fight is credited with "waking the team up."

I think I would love Jack the person, but don’t like his announcing

That being said you are 100 percent right on
