I wish they'd just do away with the all star game altogether

I like the skills competition (skating, shooting accuracy etc). And I really miss the Old Timers games they used to have. Other than that, I can take it or leave it. Usually I leave it.

I respect Jack a ton for making the effort to apologize. If Maroon won't accept it that's not on Jack.
A lot would depend on the sincerity of the apology. Maybe Maroon and/or others in the room felt it was disingenuous which ultimately turned into the situation it is now

1) Good for Jack for making the effort.
2) Who gives a shit whether Maroon accepted or not.
3) I bet the dick head who runs Lightning Social Media wouldn't have the humility to do the same.
What if it was a half hearted apology and that’s why Marion didn’t accept it

Idk Edwards has a laundry list of these types of problems. He doesn’t exactly get the benefit of the doubt in these types of situations.

I don’t know about you, but if a guy squats down on the ground to make eye contact while I’m doing something like tying a skate, I’m gonna assume he’s pretty genuine. Don’t you agree?

That’s absurd- if it was half hearted or disingenuous he wouldn’t go out if his way to meet the guy to offer it.

If Maroon’s still hurt by the whole thing I hope he pulls through ok.

So with the Kraken leading the Canucks 3-0 last night, Oleskiak answered Schenn's challenge for a fight. Seattle wound up winning 6-1. Every time people dare bring up a Bruin dropping the gloves up 1-0, 2-0, 10-0 you're always told "you don't want to fire up the other team or let them get back in the game" even when it's vs the trash of the league like Philly or San Jose. It's just a terribly weak argument.

fantatics is awful the shirts are made out of tissue paper.
This X 10. You can both win the game and settle on ice disagreements with fists.

What are we talking about here? He called Maroon a load basically. All this uproar over being called chunky? These guys hear MUCH worse on the ice every single shift. Granted it was unprofessional and unnecessary commentary on Jacks part, but IMO it didn’t warrant bending down on one knee and apologizing in person in the locker room. Man up Maroon. Shaq and Barkley insult one another far worse on national tv on a weekly basis and laugh it off. This entire episode is soft.

Shaq and Barkley are also friends. There’s a massive difference between two buddies or even acquaintances to say stuff to each other. Maroon had never met Jack Edwards in his life and probably never heard his name until Edwards was calling him fat.

This is far from Edwards first time making off based comments where he’s had to publicly apologize.

Idk I don’t go off appearances I go off what was actually said. Whatever was said Maroon didn’t take the apology sincerely. Unfortunately it wouldn’t surprise me at all especially with the type of person Jack edwards is.

Calling a 4th line hockey player “fat” isn’t exactly insulting. Small dig. Soft skin for whomever gets offended by that. From what I read Maroon spoke to Edwards for 10 mins and shook hands. I think the media was more insulted than Maroon was

I guess if you decide to look at it from that angle.

Jack Edwards shouldn’t be going on 5 minute rants about someone he doesn’t knows personal life. Never mind on a TV broadcast to millions of people about the weight problems of someone he doesn’t know. It just shows his complete lack of character.

You’re so funny. “I don’t go off appearances I go off what was actually said”

Then you say, whatever was said Marion didn’t take it seriously.

Aside from seeing a photo and a tweet or two, you‘ve assumed what was said. Of course you have no idea what either party said. You also missed the report that they talked for 10 minutes and ended with a handshake.

Magic. Total and complete bullshit of course, but very very funny. Thanks for the laugh.

I wasn’t going off the photo I’m going off the report that was posted on the previous page. So yes I’m going off the information that’s been said.

It shows the character of people here as well who make comments about Jack's health and wonder if he is drunk. We may not be on a national broadcast but some the comments on our own board are very cruel, we do not personally know him either. I agree lack of character is everywhere.

He was out with some injury a short time ago and his goal scoring has not been as good this season. I am speculating that this is something else and they are timing it so he misses the All Star Game and gets whatever is nagging him some time to heal. Yes, I am skeptical about the knee.
