I’ve seen some choice quotes from Guerin the last few weeks and I can say with 100% confidence the guy is an asshole and probably a misery to work with/for

based on what? a gm saying he isnt going to be held hostage by an agent?
good for him, these agents act like they run the entire show and they dont. they are a piece of he show.
Although I wouldn’t mistake Guerin as someone who would hold people’s attention with his interpretation of Kafka, I find him refreshingly direct and straight forward.

Crapshoot means you have to draft players that are guaranteed to not get a sniff of NHL? You still have to try to draft someone that can develop into a good player.

I'm not a prospect guy but I'm happy with the outcome of the draft. Drury turned Georgiev into 3 mid-round picks and I like what I've heard about Sykora, McConnell-Barker & Barbashev. The rest of the picks I don't really care about, its all a crap shoot.
I assume the next order of business will be to trade or buyout (likely) Nemeth before free agency starts. Then I guess we'll see what the plan is at center.

Pretty much to be expected having just 1 pick the first round rounds (and that being almost the last pick in the 2nd round), and 1 other pick in the 3rd round.

Maybe he's trying to do 1 on 1 moves because the rest of the players on his team are terrible? Give this guy some linemates and maybe he'll actually do something. Not one drafted prospect on his team. He's the only one and he was in the 5th round. Most teams have a few guys over a few drafts. Not one. Hard to judge a player in a situation like that. One of the overage guys got signed to an AHL deal, so at best he is working with a marginal AHL talent and nothing else on the roster.
Scouting a player like this has to be impossible and is probably a big reason why you see some players fall and you ask in 2-3 years how they ever went in that round.

Many years now I've been pretty content with just about all of our picks. Think they've done a decent enough job. Lindbom was unanimously hated, Tarnstrom was a late 3rd but I thought there were some better choices. Other than that I've liked most of our selections at the time. These past 2 drafts though I feel like they threw away multiple picks. There's nothing wrong with taking meat and potato guys, you need to. Cleary it's a theme for Drury. The first 2 picks more than fine with. The Barbashev pick was great... and obviously we have no idea how these picks end up, but it's not very encouraging we took multiple guys that no one else in the world even had ranked. Im rooting for them, we'll see how it plays out. Not a fan of the mentality that they're later picks so who cares. Your chances are incredibly low, that's fine. You want to find a Mangiapane, a Garland you have to actually pick those sorts of players. Berard was a great pick, you're not gonna hit every year but at least give yourself a chance
