The mid late rounds are a vast wasteland of nothingness, with the exception of one or two guys per round, and no one will know who they are for several years.

I don't claim to know anything about this year draft class, yet from my likely naive, asset opinionated perspective, this seems like a year where they could have drafted a random goalie or two and at least added some to the system.

I don't rate the 3 NCAA overagers Drury targeted but it's a great developmental league for future role players, so that should help their respective floors.

Barbashev is obviously more interesting because of his surname than much else, but you never know.

I really liked the first two picks, and I’m not going to pretend to know much about the others. Liley and Morehouse are really plugged into US hockey, so they must clearly have seen stuff they’ve liked about the last few picks. Both have done well in their previous spots of identifying good mid-round talent

If our Barbashev is anything like his older brother, he will be a great pick. Also, Karpa had a pretty good freshman year for Harvard. Sykora and BMB are great picks. The rest are whatever. First time in 100 years we didnt draft a goalie or a player from Russia. Barbashev is Russian, but plays in NA.
