It's pretty clear that Drury and his team value determination and hard work a bit more than the previous leadership team.

With these picks, they weren't finding top 6, or even top 9, talent without falling ass backwards into it.

Might as well try to find guys who have a shot at making it playing a different way. We'll see.

Its every year, not just this draft. Tell me where is Sykora gonna play on this team? I like the player but at some point when you have 10 left wings and need a center you need to use your highest pick to try and get one. We should have someone to step into the top 6 role as a c now and let Copp and Strome ride into the sunset, but we will end up with 5 or 6 years of Strome because we keep avoiding centers in the early rounds since the Anderson draft.

The first two picks were good.

Kinda feels like they just gave up after that. Overagers are okay, but it doesn’t seem like they even took good ones.

Yeah I liked the first 2 picks. Overagers are not OK for a team that has plenty of depth and prospects, and yes these overagers were beyond lame. Someone must be friends with Karpa and was doing him a surprise gift.

Is anyone a sure thing in the 2nd round. Probably not but you have to atleast make the attempt. This inability to get a 2c over the last number of years is gonna cost us because we have to sign or trade for someone to fill that role at a much higher cap hit right now, and in 3 years time we will still be looking to aquire someone.

Sykora can play both wings.

This is irrational. No Center drafted in the 2nd round would have an impact any time soon.

Funny enough, BMB has a chance to be a Point/Cirelli type steal.... which is what you're advocating for

Sykora and BMB are home runs.

Expecting WAY TOO much out of later round picks.

Took a few guys that probably could make it as 3rd/4th line types. You do need those types of prospects as well. If this team plans on contending for as long as possible, we already have the high priced players. Will need cheap 3rd and 4th liners that won't have much of a shelf life here because they'll quickly be priced out once off their ELC or 2nd deal.

One thing about Barbashev, his team was terrible. Not just like a bad team, but a really bad junior team. Look at their page. Not one player on that roster last season was drafted. On top of that, there was nobody else on that team drafted in this draft. Could be helpful that he'll be put in every situation and play 20 minutes a night. Wouldn't shock me if his offensive numbers blow up cause of this.

People seem to like the Sykora and Bakker picks. Everything beyond the 4th round is a crap shoot anyway.

I won't pretend to know jack shit about any of these guys.
