I'm waiting for you. If I listen to lavoie I feel like I'm listening to a donkey in labour
He’s actually making sense for once. I only heard the part where he was explaining why he’d be shocked if they picked Wright.

With our polls, I think the picture is pretty clear.
Now, This is the Montreal Canadiens.
1st pick for the first time in 40 years......in Montreal, in front of our fans which.....which 80% of them wants Wright.

They could pick either of the guys that polls at 10%, that would take balls and I would admire that in a way (better be freaking right) but this is still Goeff Molson's team and after a screw up like last year, he's in the room and he's asking why we don't take the guy 80% of the fan base wants.

I know, it shouldn't be that way.....BUT this is Montreal. We don't even pick our coaches and GM without a criteria to please not even 60% of the fanbase.

Now them not picking Wright....would be ballsy.....but it would need tons of convincing to do for Molson not picking up the guy 80% of his fan base wants. And they know, they even put out a little video with fans (some don't know nothing obviously) but the only name that came out more than once is Wright and it's 5-6 of them

Just listened to the Wright presser in full and Hickey asked the question I wanted to hear Wright answer. Hickey asked Shane if Habs select him and choose to send him back to Junior, how he would handle it. Wright said that if that's what they chose to do he would accept that.

He said he can't tell them he wants to stay in the NHL. He can't do that. If they think it's best for his development, he would accept it. He said he'd be a member of the organization and if that's what they want, that's what he'll do.
He's got a good attitude. If Kingston's coach is as nutty as some claim Wright may take off when freed.

You are correct. And yet, KK did better in Liiga in his draft year than Slaf did.

Here's hoping Habs get that pick.
I don’t think we have the available pieces to get a deal done. The wildcard for me is Romanov. I am his biggest fan but at the same time, he is no offense dinamo and we need talent offensively.

If the player they want is there at 7, whether it’s Lekkerimaki or Jiricek/Nemec, I think I accept to part with Romanov because Guhle is coming and fill the same kind role as Romanov.

And kk was light years ahead of slaf in terms of draft year league play. He had 10 points ffs. 10. Points. That's a big yikes from me dawg. That resume is the slightest I've ever seen for a guy apparently in the running for 1st overall. That's like the mcdonalds manager who won employee of the year being in the running for CEO.

Let's draft a kid 1st overall because hes big and scored against countries who dressed their roller hockey team in the olympics. Woohoo yippeee.

Hyperbole yes, but looking at that league play... 1st overall? Really? f*** me if that's who we end up with.
Lots of players went undrafted and became HOFers and lots were drafted in the later rounds ans became stars.

If Molson is directly influencing draft picks the habs are doomed whoever they take. It would take a really, really good reason to take someone other than Wright but if they found that reason they should go with it. The best player from this draft likely isn't ranked top 5 now, if they have some way to find that pick, go for it.

If they are really offering 26 and 33 for a pick in the teens I'm surprised no one has jumped, but maybe teams are waiting to see how the first 10 picks or so go before making moves in the teens. There are so many polarizing picks that some guys are going to drop.

I expect the habs will take Wright.

They won't move Romanov. I also think that a team like the Sens would value someone like Anderson. Other pieces would need to be added to land the 7th pick. But I think the Sens can use an Anderson, who is still under contract for another 5 years.

They're looking to take the next step. Anderson is not your all star caliber asset, but I can see Sens value him.

I think it'll probably depend on how they feel about Harris. I personally think Romanov will be great on a 2nd pairing in the future next to someone like Barron but if the Habs brass think Harris can fill a similar role, then Romanov automatically becomes expendable for the purpose of a value trade

Apparently its not out of the realm that they view Slaf as a center. Apparently he played quite a bit in the junior leagues according to Sam Cosentino? Apparently Gorton also went to Kakko when they were going to draft him and asked how he felt about being a center (kakko requested to stay at wing). Was in the Athletic NHL podcast

I swear to god if they draft Slaf and then try to convert him at centre I'm going to flip for real, not flip in a funny HFBoards kind a way. If they do that they all need to get fired.

Yeah I don’t see them trading Romanov either. And I can’t see a team giving up a top 10 pick for a package centered around Anderson. I think it’s pure delusion on our part.

I want Wright but I’m fine with Cooley.

That said, Molson pays Managment the big bucks. The fans aren’t the pros. Most fans will be fine with whomever they decide to go with.

I mean you can’t build a team based on popularity, that would be insane.
