i just dont see us having the assets for a top 10 pick people keep saying Anderson but hes not worth that much even if we package him with our #26
Never underestimate the Hockey World's view on Big, Can Skate guys.

Hughes has been subtly driving the price up for Andy in the media, saying people are calling but it's gonna take a boatload to get him. I dunno. Seems to be some smoke there.

Anderson playing with Tkachuk in Ottawa would be kind of deadly for them, not gonna lie.

Wright and Lekkerimaki would be a dream ...

Definitely. There could be other good options there. We all believe the target would be Lekkerimaki simply because Habs took him to dinner at the combine. And you'd think they did that because they legitimately have interest.

Please don’t pass on Wright, worst mistake they’ve made in years and they’ve made a lot. I’d be disappointed with Cooley but okay. Slaf would just be brutal and more than likely blow up in our faces

I've mentioned it numerous times while many were talking about trading with New Jersey for their 2nd overall pick, that the Top-10 picks I would target would be the Sens' 7th, Wings' 8th, and Sabres' 9th.

And all signs pointing to the Habs' target would be Lekkerimaki since they took him to dinner at the combine.
Ottawa and Buffalo definitely want to start competing soon and I could see Detroit going that way this year or next as well. So I agree those are good trade targets because guys picked in that range usually won't help the NHL teams for at least a few years, which is where MTL comes in.

I swear if Miroshnichenko falls to 26 and the Habs management pass on him, I'm sneaking into the parking lot to stash dead fish in every one of their cars.
Habs may not even have that pick — Hughes is said to have been dangling it to several teams in a package that includes the 33rd.

If we are trading for #7 they must really think a certain player is going to be there....but who?
If targeting a specific player we would wait until it's their turn to pick and only then make the trade if the player is available. But you still have to do 95% of the negotiation ahead of time since there is such a small window of time for the team before they have to pick.

A team like Ottawa that feel the need to take the next step could reach and hope a guy like Anderson puts them in the picture. Let's see what Hughes can do!

Yes it is always hard to predict the value NHL players will go for. There are countless examples of guys going for more than expected and the same number of guys going for way less. Best not to get too excited until aomething really happens. One thing for sure, Anderson would speed up Ottawa's rebuild along with their other pieces. Now, whether the trade value is right or not, i prefer not to speculate.
