I get that we shouldn't care what other fanbases think but anyone else feel like if we get another 1st that we'll be labelled Oilers 2.0 and end up being the laughing stock of the league/HFboards if the guy we draft doesn't pan out?

We already get dunked on already on the HF, Having more people making threads about "____ player sucks, Devils bad at drafting" etc just makes me feel bleh.

The Oilers got the 1st by being the 3rd seed (2015), 2nd seed (2012), the worst overall (2011, when we won as 8th) and the worst overall (2010).

We got it as the 5th seed (2017) and 3rd seed (2018).

That was the 3rd time a 5th seed won the 1st pick.

It’s very unlikely we win, we’re just spoiled by the earlier wins and it feels like a thing that happens.
