There's not a chance in hell the Giants end up becoming a sustainable success story this season. They're clearly a couple of years from digging themselves out of the crater Gettleman put them in.

Still, any win they do get is gravy on top of a rebuilding season, and it'll show that the new regime will be ready to turn the corner when they get more personnel.

You can rebuild an NFL team to respectability in two or three years tops. Good lines, some running attack, a game manager QB who doesn't turn the ball over, good special teams with a kicker, and some pass rush and you can probably win 7-9 games. That sounds like a lot but it's nothing special in today's NFL. The problem is finding a top tier QB to get you to the next level. I'm not sure how the Giants achieve that but if they can they should finally start to be a division winning level team again.

Ya as always its all about which way the “Ifs” fall but if Barks stays healthy and plays like that, if the o-line can come together, if the puss rushers come back and cause some havoc. This Giants team could be ok.

Sure. They could win 7-9 games and have another one or two close losses. it still likely requires a new QB to get them to the next level. I'm sure they will see that as the season rolls on. I'm not sure at this point how likely Barkley is to stay healthy but he's young and has the chance for a great season.

Neither guy had a particularly good game to be honest...probably 8 or 9 INT-worthy throws combined, which is absurd given how good both guys are
Yes. Both teams were up and down. Herbert made that bad inside throw in the fourth that led to the INT TD. If LAC scores there it’s a different game. It didn’t play out as advertised but still an interesting game .

It’s early but Georgia looks like the best NCAA football team to me.
They definitely look primed to repeat. Bama looks not their usual selves which is to be expected after losing Smith, Waddle, and Williams over the last couple years. Will Anderson is a monster and Kool-aid McKinstry is solid in the secondary, but I just don’t see it with them. tOSU will likely run through the B1G and shit the bed in the playoffs.

Jets defense getting abused by Chubb. Jets O played well enough (killer penalties though) to get something from the game, but they can’t put it all together. Clearly a lot more talent on the team.

Eh this was their most winnable game in the first seven...moral victory isn't enough today, especially when this franchise is full of 0-for-Septembers and is staring at another one. They made Jacoby Brissett and Amari Cooper look like Josh Allen and Stephon Diggs, never mind failing to stop the running game in the second half. Garrett Wilson had a nice game otherwise but that wide open drop at midfield was a SOJ moment and pretty much ended their best chance to tie the game.

@NJDevs26 didn’t take an act of God into account lmao
LOL the Browns out-Jetted the Jets and wet their pants in front of the Dawg Pound. Couldn't happen to a nicer fanbase after their Deshaun hero worship this offseason.

Even with Chubb faux pasing and scoring when just going down would have ended the game they still needed to **** everything else up to lose

-Missing the PAT
-Giving up a quickie bomb when all you have to do is defend the deep ball (shades of Flacco's bomb in Denver)
-Giving up the onside kick
-Choking away another score on 3rd and 10 when the Jets had no timeouts left

And even after all that the Jets STILL nearly gave it away in the end

The Saints imploded after the big fight.
Yes and no. The refs bailed out TB on the go ahead drive and Winston was off all day for NO with the fractured vertebrae. If Ingram doesn’t fumble earlier NO would have been up and who knows. I would put the ejections third on the list of how NO lost this game. I think the real takeaway is that Brady has a screw loose and would rather be a decent but not great QB than before married and see his kids every day.

I try not to use the excuses of if so and so team only scored on that play, they would’ve won that game. I really should’ve said Winston imploded after that fight. I told my buddy right after the fight that Winston would be all juiced up and throw a deep INT because he couldn’t control his emotions. A play or 2 later and well yea…. I’m not claiming to be Nostradamus, I just was able to watch most of his NFL starts and he hasn’t matured much in that sense. All the talent in the world but his decision making hasn’t caught up.

You didn’t notice the same play call to throw deep to Olave three times earlier in the game? The mistake wasn’t the deep ball it’s that he didn’t lead Olave after overthrowing him on the earlier plays. I don’t think Winston calls his own plays and I don’t think the Saints OC lost his composure. I would blame the coaches for letting a guy play with four vertebrae fractures. It clearly hampered both his throwing and his running. He gave up on two earlier drives rather than run for first downs. The Saints offense was bad all day. They had three points until garbage time and it’s not like TB was stopping the run or sacking Winston for the first three quarters. NO abandoned the run after thr Ingram fumble and putting the game in the hands of a guy who probably had painkilling injections and opioid meds just to play was bound to fail as I see it. Brady is still an idiot.

You are obviously much more passionate about these teams than me. You still give me laughs every time you try to rib on the GOAT though, so I thank you for that.

I think subway might’ve ran out of his Avocado melt before the game.

Two things -

1- because of my kids I have had to watch every single Saints game for the past 15 years. Many of them in person. I’m pretty fair when I watch them and when they win or lose you can see why. They aren’t built to win a game 6-3.

2- my wife is a divorce attorney and Brady is throwing away his marriage and his chance to be home everday with his kids to lose in the divisional round. He’s an idiot. You really think he has anything to play for at this point? He’s not the goat parent in my view. He will regret playing this season when he loses his relationship with his kids.
