I say this as someone who watches maybe 5 total regular season games a year, but what makes baseball so unwatchable? In my mind, it has always been a slow game with lots of standing around, but when there are stakes to the game that just adds to the anticipation and drama, no?

If anything, I would say the problem with baseball is just that there are so many games in a season that it's hard for any of them to be that compelling.
Well games used to be played in 2.5 hours or even less. Now they are 3 to 3.5. And yes in a high stakes game that can be ok but in a 162 game season its way too mich game in and game out.

Another big gripe is the HR or strike out dynamic. The ball is just not in play enough and when it is the shift deadens the action further. Now as noted by someone above with pitchers routinely throwing high 90’s and now 100+ the strikeouts are going to remain high but banning the shift should allow more balls put in play to get through.

Granted im a guy who thinks players should just hit the ball the other way but if the shift just goes away thats good too.

Reading through the WFAN talk( and listening to the jerome calls with my gf which were fun) reminded me that Joe Beningo is back with Evan on Saturday mornings.

So if you want to listen to actual sports radio. WFAN on the weekends has it.

He really does. Every wacky, overly descriptive callers called into his show.

He also let them go on longer. Like Mike would cut you off immediately
My top 3

1.) MLB Fox
2.) NHL ESPN
3.) IndyCar ESPN

All bangers

Francesca was always pretty full of himself but he also had to keep the drive time show moving which wasn’t easy at times. He also seemed dismissive of the Mets and Jets too often when that was probably a slight majority of the audience.

In doing the overnight Sommers had a relative few callers so he could let guys talk. While for Mike the lines would be a long ass wait even with him cutting callers short.

Mike definitely got cranky in his last couple years but he was great in his heyday. Just recently started listening to his podcast.

Francesca was always a pompous asshole. He managed to make a name for himself back in 1989 when he predicted Seton Hall would go to the Final Four, and from there on he could never be wrong about anything, at least in his mind.

Never heard the IndyCar theme before, that sounds like a final fantasy boss theme lmao definitely a great one
YUP, this triggers my childhood nostalgia.

Current IMSA one is also one of my favorites.

And of course, the current F1 theme is also boss.

F1 theme is hype. Yesterday was like a non-devils related perfect sports day. Honestly this whole weekend was great for me lol. Yankees kill Tampa Sat/Sun, Rutgers won, Monza to start off Sunday followed by red zone and a giants win…and the cowboys get embarrassed at home😛

He's a dick, sure, but he's entertaining about it.

Frankie Montas…🤮. I’d rather they kept Waldichuk and Sears and thrown them out there than have that turd get spotted 5 runs and completely implode. One of Cashman’s worst trades.

They just can’t give it to Ohtani again. Can they? And I’m not one of those people who read too much into the meaning of “valuable” in MVP, but when you consider who’s carried their teams on their backs more, it’s still Judge for me. It doesn’t help that this tweet never stops being relevant:
