Ratzlaff....1st round?

Congrats. What a great team.
Too early to say but I doubt he goes in the 1st. Not many goalies go in the 1st these days unless they have sensational tools including size. Hrabal's getting lots of attention from scouts as a possible 1st round pick.

Forgive my ignorance, but whats wrong here? Frenchie = french guy, no?
Just use his name, no need for labels. It's an english word or a polite way to say frog. Whenever I hear it, I think of Frenchie Martin.

I think some people feels way too easily offended these days. Im fanco myself and never heard anyone getting offended about this term.

Yet one of the Moderators is called “Frenchy” lol

I’m francophone and tbh, it’s not an earth shattering term that will send me into hysteria
It doesnt matter how you two personally feel about it. It is a derogatory term.

Top it all off that hes not even French, hes Québécois...

How we feeling about Frenchie in The Boys then? I'm also francophone and I didn't know it was derogatory. I guess it depends on the context, as I could see it being belittling.

Oh you didn't get the memo for modern day internet politics? As soon as one person gets a chance to be offended about anything it allows a group of other people to virtue signal their moral high ground and cancel their newfound enemies. Being offended about anything is now off limits cause we're such a virtuous species but there's always a need for new things to be offended about, can't let things get stale and all.

It's not because it's written somewhere on the internet that it's a social norm LOL. I don't give a single shit about this, neither should anybody. I'll use frenchie/frenchy all I want. 45 years, never used it or was used to describe me in a negative way. Pixie dust, fugazzy, magic. Stop the nonsense, soon the whole dictionary will be off-limit because it can be used in a derogatory way. Apple! Widget! Words!

Now let's come back to a conversation between non-fragile adults about the Hlinka tournament.

John "Frenchy" Faqua was a popular NFL running back in the 1970s for the Giants and the Steelers who's fans were called "Frenchy's Foreign Legion ." I guess times have changed.

I don’t feel it…..unless someone is confrontational with me and calls me Frenchie to get me going then ya….he can call me white guy in the same tone and that would boil my blood….but amongst buddies, or at work, i don’t feel hairs standing on my back, it doesnt feel like a personal attack like if someone called me a frog….ya, that would peak a frown on my face.

I get what you’re saying though, i can see sensitive people getting offended over it.

That’s my opinion on that matter :)
