2022 Development Camp Invitees.......

After thinking over yesterday here are some random thoughts.

Jaret Stoll still has a wicked wrist shot.

Matt Greene looks like he just always wants to kick someone’s ass.

Luc was there, didn’t get to say hi but that guy is always smiling.

I liked Stefan, good stick handling and around the play. Smaller guy tho.

Lee is gonna be a player.

I liked Jameson (sp). Fast with skill.

Doyle also looked good.

Guys who have been in college or pros showed their experience.

Again, just a dev scrimmage but those were my biggest impressions.

Last one I went to was after Schenn’s draft.

The guys I remembered from that camp were Deslauries and Gudas and walking past a skinny kid named Wayne Simmonds. ; )

Did Pinelli leave any impression?

Maybe it's the shoes, but Clarke looks several inches taller than FP (listed as 6'2 & 6'1). Maybe Clarke grew idk. Clarke also looks like he needs a lot of weight training (both his legs and upper body).

I noticed over the years how their heights and weight can differ greatly depending on what site one uses. I looked them both up on hockey db and Clarke is 6'2, 185 and Pinelli is 5'11 182


I know: perspective , FP is walking slightly in front , etc but that doesn't look like a 3 inch difference to me (TWSS)

He attended but was unable to pass his physical to be cleared for the on-ice portion. He's was still supposed to take part in the off-ice sessions, but haven't seen anyone specifically mention that.

Those heights/weights you listed is exactly what i'd expect them to be based on that picture.
Kinda disappointed because i was thinking Pinelli was bigger (if he was, then likely no way we get him in the 2nd round i guess).

That hopefully means he is not quite ready yet, rather than a setback or another injury. They need to take every day they need to make sure he’s fully recovered.

I think they have QB skating more upright now. Seems to have more confidence and handling the puck better.
I think he has the drive and work ethic...and we will witness him getting better and better. Will finally be 20 next month. I can't wait to see where he will be at, 2 years from now...but will enjoy witnessing the progress.
Love how he just lifts his left skate a second and turns on his right skate, making that elusive move and controls the puck so well. Very fluid.

while they fixed his skating they should fix the length of his stick while there at it. probably uses a kids stick cause hes always hunched over.

Hard to tell but it kind of looks like they did, even if just slightly, there's no way he'd be able to stand that tall with the previous one. Could easily be wrong though.

One thing I've noticed and was remarked upon by a few friends is his first few steps are much more explosive, and that's fantastic for his creation of space.

Turcotte makes sense, in that he's missed so much with injuries...I hope he's healed from the last concussion and can play full contact.

I hope Brandt Clarke dominates. Where's Chromiak? Probably back in Slovakia.
Would love to get some reviews on the new draftees. Would love to hear how Ben Meehan looks, too...and Pinelli. being that he was a borderline 1st rounder from his class...and a report on LaferRiere.

Is this the first time thast Aatu Jamsen has been over here?
Who looks bigger: Kaleb Lawrence or QB?

Hope he’s recovered, more info will be known this upcoming week as Slovakia’s U20 camp starts. Hope he’s there. We will need him more than ever without Slafkovsky, Mesar and Nemec.

Byfield still looks a good bit hunched over still. Hope he’s exploring sticks and implementing bigger sizes more and more. Plus hunched over skating is a one way ticket to getting headshotted
 
However Byfield looks he's already a bust remember. :sarcasm: Byfield and Iafallo for anyone please.
