Agree, he is on my 50 man list for next year.

I have HABS giving NHL deals to:
Dichow
Simoneau
Dobes (if he comes out early) or Vrbetic (if not)
Struble
Farrell (early, pretty sure of that)
Davidson (but we could also do AHL for one year, and hold his NHL rights to the max date of June 2024)

I expect Habs to not sign:
Gorniak and
Henrikson (LOL, 7 years after drafted!)

I think Hutson does another year in the NCAA though I would not be against him signing NHL and then playing in Laval instead
If guys like Makar, Hughes and Fox all do 2+ years of NCAA, Hutson needs to as well.

I'm not saying you are "wrong" but each player is different. It's more about when a person needs to be challenged at the next level, but still be considered able to handle the challenge and not drown.

Hughes and Makar stayed in the NCAA after not beating 1.0 ppg in their freshman year. In fact, Makar was quite far away.

Fox was different. He did not want to play for Calgary and would not consider turning pro until he was traded where he wanted to go. So he ended up with 2 extra years in the NCAA.

I will trust Kent Hughes to assess the readiness level.

One last thing. Makar and Fox went from the NCAA to the NHL, Makr at 19 and Fox at 21.

I want Hutson to do 2 years in the AHL first, ages 19 and 20, and start NHL at 21..

Hughes and Makar had the elite skating. Hutson is agile, but he’s not as fast, and he’s light. He has to gain strength, no other way around it.

It makes all the sense in the world to the Habs as Nemec is so much better than Hutson. HuGo would pull the trigger on this in a nano second.

Nemec has better potential than Hutson, that's for sure, overall at least (Hutson may still have the edge offensively), but, not sure HuGo would give up that much, that's a shitload of assets, and for all we know, all those players given may become better in the end.

But yeah, NJ definitely won't give him away, Nemec could become their general in no time.
