Wow Matheson is on the list 😲 so we'll have two of the all-time best dmen from the NCAA!
Whats more impressive is the barometer to which we can effectively predict nhl success from the NCAA. 20 years ago, those stats didn't mean much.. now, you know exactly where your prospect potential lies .. though I just cant see Lane veing an effective NHL D if he doesnt add at least 30lbs of mass.

5'10" ??? really ?? If so, it is now time to add 15-20 pounds to his 148 pounds frame.

The weight on elite prospect is incorrect though.
He's listed as 148 lbs, but the last we heard he was 161 lbs.
Podkolzin used to be listed at 6'4 on Elite Prospects so it's not 100% accurate. Hutson recently said he's 5'9 and about 160 lbs, that's the most accurate information we have about this important issue.

I hope hutson height watch remains a meme well after he’s already established himself as an NHL player. Only a few more years until he’s Chara size. His style will continue to evolve as he goes from diminuitive pp quarterback to feared enforcer along with xhejak.

I can't say I've seen a lot of Hutson but the games I saw at the WJC have me concerned. His offense is everything they say but his defense scares the bejesus out of me. He was constantly getting burned on the outside. Reminded me of the second coming of Juulsen. Also, he was terrible when the opposing team got a cycle going on in his end. If you guys are expecting an Eric Karlsson lite, okay but you better team him with a stud defensive d-man because this kid has serious troubles in his own end. And most of those troubles have nothing to do with his size.

I totally see what you have seen. He's not going to be a trusted guy in his own end but he can learn how to be effective like Harris. Having guys like Guhle and Xhekaj is important and we need more big boys that can play in the mix.

Can Hutson be a better version of Gostisbehere? That's kind of where I think his ceiling is.

Can't still believe that Habs drafted this guy at 62nd overall. Right now, I feel like we have drafted 2 top 10 pick with Juraj Slafkovsky and Lane Hutson.

Same with Cole Caufield and Kirby Dach, it's like having 2 top 10 pick in 2019 draft.

Well it's a good thing the WJC are just a snapshot in time and not a predictor of future performance.

It's quite normal for players to look like an unfinished product when they're 18yrs old.

Hutson is gonna make it, it's just a matter of whether or not he's someone like Adam Fox.. or someone you have to hide a bit.

He has -it-.

100% agreed. This kid is a special talent.

And if it's true that he's 5'10" and 161 lbs, 6 months after being drafted and listed at 5'8" and around 150 lbs, he can be even better than we anticipated. Because the only thing that turn off about him in many people's eyes was his size. And that already seems like it's being addressed.

We always use Jared Spurgeon as an example of a small size D who can have a real good career in the NHL. Spurgeon is 33 and listed at 5'9" and 165 lbs on Elite Prospects. Well, according to that same site, Hutson at 18 is already an inch taller and about 4-5 lbs from Spurgeon's weight.
