The real question is, will Makar develop into a Hutson?

Both are different players, but I do think Hutson has an (albeit small) chance of being as impactful as Makar.

Actually let me rephrase: Hutson is the only defenseman in our system that has the potential to be as impactful as Makar.

Sure would be. I'm not gonna count him out just yet. He's shown solid improvement this year. He showed us resilience last year. Who knows what the future holds.

Obsession to improve is the key ingredient. You hit the key spots that I have seen as well. Improvement energy and Resilience is something he clearly has.

You always want better assets but lets not dump on him cause he is not Price. There are usually 5 goalies or so that can be among the best for 5 year spans. Then you got a cluster of goalies who have good seasons and bad ones depending on the team they play on.

Monty could be a good goalie for us during our transition years. When we exit it, he might not be with us or he might be our 1B goalie with experience

He is also player of week every week! lol

I'm very much interested in seeing him play for the US at the WJC. It's rare for 18 year old's to lead their team on D at that tournament. No doubt in my mind that he runs their PP unit

Wish we could just call him up for our PPs, I'm convinced he would establish himself as our team's PP QB instantly.
I'm sure he would, he said he wanted to join the Habs as fast as he can, so you never know, we might see him faster than we thought.

For fun I had a read of the early pages of Adam Fox's prospect page located here.

Lots of parallels. People pointing out the dominance with USNTDP, people questioning if a defense of his size can play, people saying the offense is incredible but defense needs work, etc. People saying the college route is perfect because it gives him the chance to bulk up.

You can see the excitement posters have as he starts putting up points at NCAA level, which is where Hutson is on the development arc. And you can still see detractors questioning the size, defense, etc.

I've been pretty bullish on Hutson since before he got drafted. I think he's a stud. Really looking forward to watching Friday's BU game on TSN to see how Hutson does.

I thought the same thing lmao, that team is full of midgets or he got a bit bigger.

When they celebrated a goal he didn't look small at all compared to his other teammates.

There's like 8 kids on that team that are 5'10" or shorter.

You guys and gals ever think of what absolute mayhem he’s going to bring as a sophomore in the NCAA? Seriously lmfao! I love it! Happy for the kid!

Hutson is still growing. Once he will be 6'2" 230 pounds , he will be a force in the NHL. Habs need a dman enforcer that will fight to protect Price once he returns to action :teach:
While I agree with you on Hutson's future size, Price's gaffe will prevent him from coming back to the Habs. He will likely win the cup 🥤 with some other team. Hutson will protect Primeau & co.

That make sens, but will he be able to win the Cup with a team like Toronto, Vancouver or Ottawa ?
