Bye Filip Bratt
He's on an AHL 2-way with Utica and Adirondack. He was assigned there along with a goodly number of the players who attended Utica's camp before NJ's reassignments. Whether he ever sees Utica again will depend upon 2 things:
1. If he makes a noticeable impression in Adirondack.
2. If the Comets face a player crisis and have to seek help from the Thunder, his progression in #1 determines if he gets to be a part of #2.

Anyone knows how has the team looked last night? Nemec?
Nemec skated and moved the puck well at times. At other times he made rookie mistakes with bad pinches and poor decisions. About what you would expect from an 18 year old playing his first North American pro game.

As far as the rest of the team is concerned, Mason Geertsen was used on both the PP and PK. That should tell you how good the Comets looked last night.

Good to hear about Nemec! From my viewings, the skill and poise pop off the screen. Thanks for the input!

Johnsson’s too good for the AHL. Unfortunately his cap hit is too hefty for other teams, but at a minimum he’s a decent bottom 6 NHL forward. Feel bad for the guy being stuck down there.
There are quite a few guys every year who end up demoted, but are "too good for the AHL". The problem is their NHL teams just don't have room for them for several reasons and most of those reasons have merit.

I'll give Andreas all the credit in the world. He didn't show up pouting, dragging ass, or just going through the motions. He has gone all out both ways, made good sefensive plays, passed the puck with accuracy, has turned a couple of D-men on 2 different teams inside out, scored a goal, and set up another in the 2 games he's played. He seems very happy and joins in the enthusiastic celebrations after the goals. He's a good hockey player and so far he's working to show he deserves the big $$$ he's making at the AHL level.

His line with Thompson and Clarke is by far the best the Comets can ice.

That’s what I noticed when watching the highlights. He seems genuinely happy and fine to be down there. Kind of heartwarming lol.

He's still earning his NHL salary down there right? Utica has fantastic support so it's not like he's playing in front of 200 people.

Maybe in his mind, if he can dominate the AHL this season, he'll be able to get himself another NHL contract next summer.

Good for him, glad he's showing his professionalism by getting stuck in and showing his value.

Any thoughts on Long Island native and Canisius College grad ('20) Nick Hutchinson? Saw he scored his first goal with the Comets.

Johnsson tore it up that game. 3 pt night involved in each goal they scored.

I think we will see him back up at some point. Maybe the team did this as a confidence stint. To regain his confidence.

He is definitely too talented for AHL... TBH... I would rather see McLeod or Bastian down in the AHL than see Johnsson there. He can be such a dynamic forward.

The team is holding onto McLeod as if 4th line Pkers are impossible to find. At least can we find a 4th line center pk specialist who can score a goal (at some frequency)....

Im hoping its a confidence rebuild stint for Mango.
