Y’all can read the whole article if you want, it’s just a quick summary of all the teams. Seravalli mentions Timo, Reimer, Bonino, Nieto, and Merkley as trade pieces.
Also quick aside, Seravalli might be a solid follow for Sharks fans. He seems to talk about them a bit more than other writers and is normally the first with the scoop. He broke Merkley’s trade request and a few signings last year.
The winny fans were/are sad that he got claimed, so good sign.I know nothing about him but looking at stats he looks like Pederson 2.0
I mean VAN fans were livid that we claimed Gadjovich and look how that worked out. Fans aren’t the most rational source of news.Apparently he’s a decent waiver wire guy.
Checking line center that isn’t an offensive black hole. Physical, high energy guy that doesn’t have bad advanced stats.

Rationally so. He was a 21 year old second round pick who just scored a PPG in the AHL. It would be like us waiving Robbins next year if he scored at a PPG with the Cuda this year.I mean VAN fans were livid that we claimed Gadjovich and look how that worked out. He played 19 games that year he had 18 points. He has (and had) a good shot but that’s about it. The rest is shit.Rationally so. He was a 21 year old second round pick who just scored a PPG in the AHL. It would be like us waiving Robbins next year if he scored at a PPG with the Cuda this year.
Yes, but all things considering, seems like bad asset management to waive him without giving him a shot. IIRC, that’s what the Nuck fans were upset about, not necessarily so much losing Gadjo himself. He played 19 games that year he had 18 points. He has (and had) a good shot but that’s about it. The worst mistake MG could possibly make is not trading Meier. He's sure to fetch at least a 1st in a talent rich 2023 draft. MG's whole, sole focus, should be to absolutely make this team as bad as possible THIS year in order to better our chances of drafting in the top 3. I mean, seriously. I think the turn around could be quicker than people expect with a core of Hertl, Eklund and a lottery pick like Carlsson or Bedard. Off loading EK's salary and not having to shell out a massive pay day to Meier should benefit us in trying to attract some decent pieces in FA. The thought of Carlsson and Hertl on a line together is so so tantalizing.Re-signing Hertl was such a mistake for this franchise, and failing to trade Meier at the deadline would be even worse. It’s tough, because emotionally I absolutely adore both those guys, but I have a fun feeling we’ll finish like 7th instead of 4th because of them.
Except that we're talking about players, not coin-flips or widgets.
I can't see that having been a big selling point to Hasso for the job. "As bad as possible"The worst mistake MG could possibly make is not trading Meier. San Jose Sharks
Top Objective: Continue to Dismantle
Scoop: Yes, of course, the Sharks would love to land Bedard like any of these other teams. But if Erik Karlsson continues to pile up points as he seeks to become the NHL’s first 100-point defenseman in 31 years, well then their odds are going to be pretty small compared to others. Timo Meier will be a big name in play ahead of March 3 as he puts together a career season. They also have other veterans such as Nick Bonino, Matt Nieto and James Reimer who will generate interest, plus Ryan Merkley has asked for a trade. GM Mike Grier has a lot of demolition to do as he coordinates the Sharks’ teardown.

There is no argument you are just wrong.
I disagree completely. Parity is so strong in the NHL that Cups are won on the margins. Brayden Point was not the “correct choice” to be drafted by your theory, and yet if Tampa doesn’t pick him they never win a Stanley Cup.Game theory addresses the correct choices for players. I actually think it may be more beneficial to pick up his QO and trade him at next year's deadline so that giant 10 mil isn't lingering over everyone's head. He should have another 35 goal 80 point pace and that'll be three in three years and still young. The worst mistake MG could possibly make is not trading Meier. If the Sharks had moved Hertl and Meier last year...I hope that's not something that's looked back on as a defining mistake.Oh my goodness. Timo has a corsi for relative of 17.8%. Karlsson has 18.5%.
Without them, good chance we are 1st in the Bedard sweepstakes.
Only in shorks land would the first 100 point season from a defenseman in 30 years be a franchise changing mistake.
