Both goalies have allowed some bad goals, but I wonder if it's more about the defense's inability to limit scoring chances. I haven't bothered to check stats so I dunno, but having both goalies with just horrible numbers is weird.
quicks let in 2 goals on the 1st shot and i think another on the 2nd.....

Both goalies do have terrible numbers. They should sit the whipping boy Durzi and see if they do a lot better.

Time to move Vilardi on the 2nd line for Ardvisson. Arvy is playing well but Vilardi needs more minutes.

It is a bit of an issue. Now both could do with making a big save when you need one, but you have situations where these guys face no shots for long stretches/first shot of the game and it's a grade a chance. Plus the unbackchecked odd man rushes and amazing assists to the wrong team

It’s because every game that Cal has bad games every game and is like ten years younger while getting paid really well. Quick has earned this right to suck now that he’s 37. Cal hasn’t earned that right.
Cal has mental game issues. The mental part of goaltending is harder to grasp than the physical aspect of it. Ranford's messaging is somehow not getting fully into Petersen's head. In Quick's case his age has caught up to him. What made made Quick so good was his battle and being able to beat shooters. Now at age 37, the shooters are beating Quick.

Honest question, who is our toughest defenseman? Doughty? It usually doesn't show up until the playoffs, but games are won in front of the goaltender and I don't think anyone on our blue line has the ability to clear the crease.

They got all these prospects that will never get a chance to play on the Kings. A lot of their ELC contracts expire in the same year. Better package some of them for a solid defensive Dman. Or call up Spence.
Call up Spence for who? They have a lot of right dmen. Doughty plays the whole game anyway and looks quite bad more than half the time. He lost a step.
Durzi has been a disaster this year and should not be on the penalty kill.

Patrick: what do you guys need to do to get back in this game.

Honest answer: quit given up so many f***ing goals!

These goals against are coming on high quality dangerous chances, and there's no stopping that last goal.

You need your goaltender to makes some 'saves above expected' here and there, but the Kings are giving up dangerous chances right and left.

The d-corps is like a surgery where the surgeon wasnt done but the hospital was on fire and they just sewed it up and got the f out. I dont like one of the pairings. I like seeing Clarke getting shifts but none of those pairings are good. DD and Ando arent a great top pairing. Whatever - the Kings didnt address the LD and here we are with chaos on D with Durzi just a mess in the D zone. This is gonna be how it is until they fix the roster - high drama hockey. For the 3rd just back on the intense forecheck and have good shifts try to get the mo back like in the 1st.

Stop the excuses the team needs to play better in front of the goalies. There are teams worse than the Kings right now that are getting far better goaltending! Flat out, both goalies need to play better. If not, then Copley strongly deserves a shot to challenge them both!

1st was a SH breakaway. He can't be blamed for that one. The other I forget, so I can't comment, but WPG seemed to have a lot of chances while SH.

Of course we don't have the access to this but I seriously want to know what Cal does in the offseason for training. He's never been a quick or flexible goalie, but he's somehow gotten substantially worse the past in both 2 years. Don't think I've ever seen this sort of decline in speed/flexibility for a goalie his age without a hip injury that would have resulted in surgery

Or at least off the PK, but I don't think it's just one player and not just the defense. The forwards in their own end seem to be missing assignments too

Cal has gotten worse every single season.

Everyone tells me we have great goaltending development though.
