That’s more of a development failure.

Kopitar is old, Danault is who he is, and Lizotte wouldn’t be a 3C on any contending team. The Kings have taken three centers high in the first round since 2017 and none of them are even remotely close to a top six center role.

Just an organizational collapse from top to bottom at the center position since Blake came on board.
Organizational collapse?
I mean your point about centers not panning out yet is fair but to throw collapse into it is a bit much.
Kopitar and Kempe are playing well, maybe Kopitar is a little fatigued.
Imagine what they could do with an experienced winger.
Maybe Arvi should go in there.
Byfield down to 3rd maybe 4th line.
Yup Lizzo is too small for the playoffs and not really suitable for fourth line.
Some size and grit in the form of a decent center needs to be there, despite his big heart and effort.

I’m waiting him to call out Durzi still
Its because every day before practice

Kind of happy the Kings lost, I still favor jumping into the central and avoiding Edmonton in the first 2 rounds. When Seattle wins on Monday they’ll jump us.

Looks like the pick going to CBJ is going to be pick 21.
So if Seattle moves to 3rd the Kings would face the top seed in the Central as WC1?

now he's a commentator who pretty much calls it as he sees it. He was not wrong tonight. Too many missed net for the bottom lines.

I understand, I was joking more than anything. But it did legit make me laugh. I remember when he almost killed Alex Burrow's on a one-timer that, had it not hit Burrows in the upper body may have cleared the safety netting.

Good effort by the Kings. Luckily, Kempe wasn't concussed. Durzi took a penalty for shoving that bastard. If Durzi was going to take a penalty, he should of come up high against him in retaliation.

I don't see the Kraken beating Vegas twice. In fact the Kraken could lose to Vegas twice. Kings just need to refocus and try to win their next game against the Canucks, to get out of this slump they are in of late.
What did you think of Copley tonight?
I was a little disapointed.

I thought he was talking about Kupari the entire time, still do. You cant miss the net like that on a 2 on 0. Stollie said the same thing, called out the 4th line because the missed the net too many times with their limited icetime. Byfield has done plenty of other things except score.
He was directly asked about Kupari not scoring on three chances tonight and if it was a good thing that the chances were coming or a bad thing that they didn't go in.

He said its great that the play was putting himself in the position to score but that eventually they have to go int.

I don't recall him mentioning Byfield but he DID mention Danault by name.

JAD looked good tonight, rather have him out there on the forecheck than MacE

Still rather have Toby out there on the left side than others…

JAD looked great with his forecheck and physical play! Really made his presence known when on the ice.

Toby deserved to keep the bottom left pairing. Just a waste at this point with him on the bench. I am willing to bet Edler will be in the lineup at 50% instead of Toby 100%. A shame.

Todd threw byfield under the bus "you cant go 40 games in the NHL without a goal"
hilarious stuff.. said some other things alluding to guys missing point blank shots - inferring Kupari
And what idiot has him playing on the first line during this time?????!

I'd put Tobi in Mikey's spot for now, then third pair when he's pack. Keep Vlad/Roy together as it works as a pair, and don't let Walker/Durzi on the ice. Walker is just a bad hockey player, and the team is worth with Durzi

Curious, because this entire board not you specifically, but you said it.....they all said Amadio is a bad hockey player (currently playing 3rd/4th line minutes on division leading Vegas) they said McNabb was horrible (currently 2nd pairing on division leading Vegas) everyone said Forbort was horrible (2nd pairing/3rd pairing on NHL leading Boston) etc,

Is it possibly that this boards view on what is and what is not a good NHL player a bit....warped? Talking about mid level players, everyone can look at McDavid and say good, everyone can look at MacEwen and say bad........but it seems nearly.....every player this board has labeled as bad.....has secured places on other highly competitive teams....why is that?

I always liked Forbort, but it's pretty easy to protect him when you have four 1st pairing dmen in your lineup plus a legit middle pair guy in Carlo.

Amadio/McNabb is somewhat the same. Amadio is scoring less than Lizzo despite playing top 6 minutes due to injuries, he's got decent numbers based on opportunity and teammates, but he's not putting up the numbers his role suggests should be there. McNabb is a third pairing guy who PKs.

Playing on bad teams at the end doesn't help the perception and they're NHL players, but securing a role on a competitive team doesn't mean not bad. Kings are a 100 point team and Waker looks like an AHLer quite often.

I love it! Drew already sounded praise for Tobi (even though Drew does this for our other defensemen).

It would keep Gavirkov and Roy together - who have been a shutdown beast of a second pair.

Third line would hopefully be more protected and taking offensive zone starts. I would rather have Spence over Durzi but would bet the farm Toddy bear disagrees.

It just wouldnt be a todd maclellan post game presser without him throwing players under the bus in the media.
What an a**hole

He is and should throw himself under the bus, for breaking up the #1 D pair on the planet...or flat earth, or dome....or universe:

Gavrikov - Roy.

Why break them up?

You can add Kempe to that list. This board was trashing him for years.

Even Nic Dowd comes to mind. He turned into a great bottom line center.

You can feel people around here are ready to go after Byfield now.
