Nobody got run to the level of anderson/McDavid Edmonton did play like they had their dick in our mouth all night though. They dictated the physical side of the game all night.
pretty late hit on AI that could have been nasty as well. I would call that a B level run. Nothing off the page though. I guess we can wait til the next game in the playoffs for an example like how last years playoff series was.

Oilers aren't missing any key players and the Kings have held them to 2 goals (excluding the EN last night) in the last two matchups. Most teams just flat out can't do that against the Oilers.
Quite literally, the only concern right now is offense. A concern that won't exist if/when key players come back from injury.
Fiala and Vilardi are probably the two best Kings players when it comes to generating offense. Those two can create scoring chances single-handedly and out of nothing at times. They're also a huge reason the Kings powerplay has been so great.
Obviously, yes, other teams have had to deal with injuries too - But as a team recently coming out of a rebuild, the Kings don't have the personnel (yet) to deal with missing 3 key players and still beat really good teams like EDM.
IF the Kings don't get healthy, yeah... It's not looking great. But also, the same could be said about any playoff team. Take away two top forwards and a top pairing d-man from literally any team and yeah.... cup chances start to look pretty bleak.
Long story short, we just have to hope these next two weeks allow the team to get healthy because I think we all know/realize a fully healthy Kings team is VERY good/dangerous and absolutely capable of going on a deep run.

So you don’t believe in cross checks in the small of the back , scrums after the whistle, or a hard slash back at the hands when the ref isn’t looking?
I’m not advocating going full McSorley or Bertuzzi on anyone but for the live of God match the aggression of a board for a board!
So....no one was run.....even though what you said was a hit like McDavid's signals to a team, they can take run at any player....and....no one did.....

I have played hockey for 29 years of my life as an adult I have come to realize there are two types of men that play the game.
One that gets run or cheap shotted then goes back to the bench and whines and cries the whole rest of the game then talks tough in the locker room.
Two the guys nobody f***s with because they know damn well they are either gonna run you in the corner, put a high and hard one on you when they get the chance, or have a talk with you in the parking lot if you didn’t apologize or knock that shit off.
My money says a lot of the guys on this board are player 1. I mean if you guys are ok with being a little bitch that’s your business. Lol

I'm not even a big "toughness in hockey" guy necessarily. I'd like us to be bigger in the daily plays but I loved the pushback from iafallo and lizotte and i think our guys are tenacious and absorb contact in a 'tough' way. Lizotte has to be exhausting to deal with. But I do think over a long series, big guys wear you down, it's why i was a big fan of Dwight King. That's a f***ing load to deal with for 7 games. Lizotte will have a different effect, and you hope you can annoy and skate guys into the ground. I don't think there was any back-down in the Kings and I think THAT has changed over the season, that's a nice development.
But on the flip side--you can NOT let McDavid and Draistaitl and, jesus christ, f***ing NUGENT HOPKINS push you around. That's pathetic. Those guys, to their credit, have developed an edge from being pushed around, and we're somehow content to let them dictate those terms to US instead of vice versa.
Yeah if Kopitar and Danault can 5v5 blank friggin McDavid and Draisaitl, you have to like your chances of Vilardi and Fiala doing something to their bottom six.
Our injuries have been the biggest story of the last week, unfortunately. Not top heavy enough to compete when any guys are out, much less the key guys.

We are definitely in agreement about the Kings needing to grow some balls but you have to stay disciplined and smart. f*** a high road, I want wins.

i wouldn't take it as far as you are but I DO believe intimidation, or at least 'willingness to pay for your ice,' play a part in the game.
A lot of our guys skate away from the front of the net immediately and I hate it. Lots of oilers were taking shots and pokes at Copley all night. One team has been deep, one hasn't.
Dude, you dabbled in rec hockey because it seemed cool......you have no idea what the upper levels of the game play at.....shit, I'm not even talking upper levels as far as AHL-NHL......even semi-pro lower leages, like what used to be the Federal League, WCHL, WPHL among others....

Not sure if you realize it, but you are the one that brought up playing 29 years of rec hockey...no one else lol, one guy asked if you have ever played, simple answer is yes.....but what you are advocating, ONLY happens in low level hockey.....

I’ve seen a few people mention that the Kings took too many penalties in this game. They took 4 and a couple were questionable. The strategy of “don’t take penalties” doesn’t work. Yes, you can minimize, but the Kings really need to figure out the PK if they want any success, especially if the PP is going to go cold.

Take a run at McDavid and see what happens! You’re arguing from whatever side you’re standing on. If taking a run at somebody doesn’t end in retribution why would you be afraid of them going after one of our players in retaliation for retaliation.
