Good post, it's total lunacy.
I made a post last night replying to someone who said "Crosscheck McDavid so hard he is pulling carbon fibers from his mouth"
Asking them how they would feel when the same is done to Kopitar and Doughty, and the response was something like "I don't care, McDavid is more important to them than Kopitar is to us, he is their whole team"
Fans not caring about a potential serious injury inflicted on our best player, and arguably the best player in team history, and an all around great person because they think it would give us a better chance to win if both teams best players were intentionally injured. As you said, thankfully we have moved on from this kind of Neanderthal thinking from teams, players and coaches, but sadly there is still a lot of it within the fanbase, who apparently think players are emotionless robots instead of actual people.
If you are on a messageboard advocating for players (who are human) on other teams to be intentionally injured you should seriously take a step back and evaluate what type of person you are.
