Because they have respect for each other and don't want to end each other's careers would be my first guess.

I'm in favor of upping the aggression level but deliberately targeting players with cheap play is p***y shit. You can still play very tough and keep your honor. It can be done. Anyone can play cheap.
I honestly think people forget these players are professional and look at the game completely different from a fan's perspective.

On the ice, there's competition. But off the ice, they're all part of the same player's association, they talk to each other, hang out, party, have families, or at least see the opposition as more than just someone who deserves to get their teeth knocked in.

And I say that as someone who would have shrugged if a Kings player punched McDavid in the face after he boarded Anderson.

From my seats last night the Kings appeared to be the same team from opening night. McDavid hit from last time they met aside. I didn't expect a bench clearing brawl, but I did expect some pushback.

What I seen was a team with no apatite to mix it up at all and a coach unwilling to change.

Dude, you are talking in circles, slow down let your brain catch up.... YOU said that because there was no response on the McDavid hit, that it it signals that EDM can take runs all day at LA players, I said ok great...who did they run....and then you hemmed and hawed and refused to answer.....

I don't think you can handle two conversations at once at this point....
Dude you do realize I’ve played at a higher level than like 90% of the people on this board. Difference is I don’t think that means my opinion makes those 90% count as shit. Playing the game is awesome this isn’t a playing the game blog where you talk and we listen. You’ve done it a ton lately with 80% of people.

Am I an asshole? Absolutely! Do I rub people the wrong way? Hell yeah I do. I’m also not so narcissistic to think that what I say should get other people to stop from posting. Disagreements and points of view are awesome and different straws to stir different drinks is awesome. I enjoy a good barrel strength bourbon some other dude probably gets white girl wasted on white claws. I would never tell him he doesn’t have the right to pour a drink.

Why did it take the Oilers so long to line up for the faceoff after the goal from the Kings? Were they trying to argue something? It felt like it sucked the momentum from the Kings and they ended up taking a penalty on the next shift.

I don't want people to stop posting, I want people to be honest, they can't be for some reason.....

And you posting about getting even outside in a parking lot, indicates you have NEVER played at a high level....or been around those who have...because that's just fan fiction bullshit.....

You want to post about Iafallo being run, sure, it wasn't, but that's a view you can have absolutely....but this eye for an eye nonsense does not exist at higher levels of the game, and King Pawn did a great job of telling you why

I think they were looking at the possibility of a hand pass.....

posts "bjornfot was brutal", ignores counterpoints, refuses to elaborate

todd says "bjornfot wasn't a liability"

flexes middling hockey career, posts "i want people to be honest"

ignore, deflect, change the subject, right out the playbook

B lake needs to switch from collecting talent to building a team

Injuries have compounded it though if we were healthy we would have a chance at outscoring them!

That’s playoff style of hockey ya vagina ! Lol
If you need players that can throw cheap shots, why do you need to draft so high?

Overall just a bad game. Todd is letting the team down with the roster composition and deployment. His fears are wearing out the top lines so much rendering them useless.

Bad coaching to say the least.

You’re wrong again. I have had my ass whooped for thinking I was the big dick in the locker room on and off the ice and been on the other side of it as well. I’ve run guys and got a receipt. Every team I played on in riverside had at least 1 division 1 player on it. I’ve played with dudes that were on the reign. I’ve skated to yost to play august pick up with U of M guys. If I boarded any of those guys I would have gotten at least 1 receipt. Hell a couple of guys in those pickups have played for the Kings and Oilers.

You have played one hockey players career. That doesn’t mean everyone else’s is non existent.

I don’t block anyone but you are impossible dude.

I’ll throw out a blanket apology to anyone I have disagreed on this board that thinks I’m as big of a douche or bigger than you are.

You don’t have to throw a cheap shot you can give the dude a cross check across the crest or just hit him back as hard as he hit you. Our players don’t do it for themselves let alone each other.

You don't see the difference between playing pickup/rec hockey.....and professional hockey?

Yea, people are gonna beat the shit out of you if you are being a dick in rec hockey........the level needed to be a dick is a helluva lot lower than in professional anything......

Not sure if you comparing the two as if they are equal is a good look for you

Kinda ignoring the game last night with that statement.....didn't Iafallo do EXACTLY what you say we don't do?

Good post, it's total lunacy.

I made a post last night replying to someone who said "Crosscheck McDavid so hard he is pulling carbon fibers from his mouth"

Asking them how they would feel when the same is done to Kopitar and Doughty, and the response was something like "I don't care, McDavid is more important to them than Kopitar is to us, he is their whole team"

Fans not caring about a potential serious injury inflicted on our best player, and arguably the best player in team history, and an all around great person because they think it would give us a better chance to win if both teams best players were intentionally injured. As you said, thankfully we have moved on from this kind of Neanderthal thinking from teams, players and coaches, but sadly there is still a lot of it within the fanbase, who apparently think players are emotionless robots instead of actual people.

If you are on a messageboard advocating for players (who are human) on other teams to be intentionally injured you should seriously take a step back and evaluate what type of person you are.

Well f***, you just broke the board......lmao

But yea, it's freaking insane.....and just smacks of never having any kind of experience in the pro game....

And I'm as damaged as they come, I care about 2 people in this world.....that's it, I tolerate the rest....and I've made my peace with that.... and even I don't advocate for that shit, it's brutal....

You’re reading too much into it. This only started by oilers intentionally trying to injure kings and people wanted one of those players who did the action to get the same treatment. McDavid isn’t a saint. He plays dirty.

You’re over reacting greatly. It’s perfectly reasonable to expect people wanting McDavid crushed.

No one wins a fight by allowing someone to get away with punching them in the face. What’s the point of playing clean hockey when the other team just keeps taking you out?

Sure didn’t work the Soviet super series now did it?

I'm only with you from the standpoint of you wonder where the actual line is that would make the Kings upset.

So far, we have headbutt and boarding injury and neither even warranted a stinky glove.

That's problematic. Can't make them pay physically, can't make them pay on the PP.

It's not even a deterrence thing, we don't need mutually assured destruction here, you just need SOMETHING that makes the other team think about their actions: you have to make them earn their ice AND think about 'well if i headbutt this guy i might get facewashed all series' but neither thing is happening.

It didn't always happen for the Oilers either, they've learned it. You would hope that would start rubbing off. I mean, Iafallo can't do shit but it appears at least HE has had enough. Where's everyone else? Emotional engagement, get in the battle.

You should never wish injury on an opponent.

However, I do believe its perfectly acceptable to wish they come down with an uncomfortable case of the squirts.

I hope they couldn't brave true LA hole in the wall mexican food and had a taco bell mexican pizza and a really uncomfortable flight home

I’ve seen a few people mention that the Kings took too many penalties in this game. They took 4 and a couple were questionable. The strategy of “don’t take penalties” doesn’t work. Yes, you can minimize, but the Kings really need to figure out the PK if they want any success, especially if the PP is going to go cold.
And one (Byfield) was complete BS horsecrap
