I am an Oiler fan and I hate dirt plays/players. Most Oilers fans rather play any team over the Kings.Kings are a good team but the highlighted part was what the kings fan were doing during the playoffs after a slew foot on Draisaitl. Most believe it is karma but it should still be called.

Refs are terrible in the NHL. The game management is ridiculous. Call the game by the rule book.If 1 team gets 10 penalties in a row so be it, even if the game is 8-0.
Would I be welcomed to this discussion on the Oilers board?

To me, seeing that Edmonton logo here on the Kings board and someone talking about karma after what happened last night is creating problems.
I said some Oiler fans feel that way. I did not say I was one of them. I will show myself out if that is how you feel. Hopefully I didn't offend anyone.

I would hope so. I would welcome anyone as long as they aren't there tp create problems.
Toilet paper creates and solves problems about equally, IMO

Problem Solving: clean butt
Problem: Toilet papering someone's house on a misty night or light sprinkle. That shit can become a quagmire quickly

Spare me the hat in hand routine.

Honestly, last night was top 5 shitty things I've seen in hockey. Even if I was an oiler fan I'd still be a little annoyed.

We always get drive bys by Canadian fans whether during the regular season or post season. We usually don’t have good experiences and we mind our business here or on the main boards, we don’t usually venture off to the opposing boards to gloat so I’m baffled why they feel the need to venture on here. Just look at your GDT before the game, so many ridiculous comments as if the kings beat the oilers last post season and this vendetta against Mikey when Draisaitl and Nurse make dirty plays all the time. Let’s not forget about Mcdavid injuring Kempe and now Mikey, so I don’t feel an ounce of sympathy for him. You just have a lot of hypocrites in your fan base

Am I the only one that didn’t think the hit was that bad? It was boarding for sure but it wasn’t one of the flagrant ones where someone is cross checked or pushed with arms extended. I think 2 minutes was the right call, and it’s more than a little funny that the Kings are so impotent that they can’t do anything to answer big bad #97.

It's not the most violent boarding I've ever seen but it's the second time he's done it to a King and the second time he's injured a King, so we're establishing a pattern here. And no, I don't expect the Kings to do anything about it.

add toothpicks pushed into the grass underneath, then the action really starts. not that i know of anything like that.

the thing is, guys don't have to bleed to be injured. he clearly was, you could see he had no idea where he was when he got up.

I think it's bad considering the amount of distance he traveled where he was able to see numbers the whole time. There is definitely worse out there, but with Anderson being out the rest of the game, and Bjornfot being called up, it did enough damage which is all that matters.

I agree the lack of response is just impotence.

I'm honestly not mad at Connor. He's smart and knows how to play this game. I blame the league for allowing it to happen because they are chicken shit.
The nhl has stated repeatedly they want that specific hit out of the game. Its obvious to the most casual observer why.

In the last 10 games between these two teams, the Kings have won 5, and the Oilers have won 5.

I actually think Edmonton is better than people think, and is arguably the second best team in the NHL.

If the Kings don't win the division, I hope the Oilers do. I'd prefer to play Vegas in round 1.

I don't really have strong feelings about the McDavid hit. I don't like it, but stuff like this happens in hockey all the time. It's guys sliding around on skates banging into each other. I don't know if it was intentional or not.

Also this really sets the stage for Tuesday night. Been wanting to take my GF to her first ever hockey game, but I've been waiting patiently to make sure it's a good one. I think this will do.

It wasn't the worst looking board of all time or anything but he did finish hard and that finish is what caused the injury.

If a hit is deemed boarding and the player being hit is obviously injured, I don't know how it isn't a major. Turcotte got a boarding major earlier this year for accidentally tripping a guy close to the boards. Pretty sure it was just a major and he wasn't thrown out...seems like they could have maybe done five but not a game misconduct on top of it?

The main thing here is that this is a playoff atmosphere game, their best player injures one of the Kings most important players (and a guy that their fan base has a weird revenge fetish with) less than two minutes into the game and the Kings do absolutely nothing about it. This team started to lose its way in this department in Lombardi's last year and have just failed miserably at it during Blake's tenure. I'm still waiting to see this "easy to add grit" grit that everyone keeps talking about...that easy shit that cost Tampa Bay multiple first round picks.

They are a good team. Physical and skilled.

I still want to see a 100% healthy team go against them.

I'm worried about Fiala. I wouldn't be surprised if a surgery announcement comes in the summer. Just a hunch tho.

I honestly don't care about seeding aside from home ice. Kings just need bring their best game no matter the series.

I used to be against having fighters in the line up since I had figured the modern NHL was shifting away from it so it serves no purpose. However after seeing how this team is now where players get taken out and nothing happens to the players who are running them.. that shit needs to be addressed.

Watching this video of Deslauriers going in last night and fighting not one but two guys in the same shift while no one even plastered anyone after Mikey got rammed is completely shameful.

I have no idea what they were thinking when they got MacEwen but they should have went after someone like Nic Deslauriers just to have someone who not only hits, but is a pretty damn good fighter.

I never thought fighting and hitting was important that much in the current NHL but Now seeing the edge teams have over those who don’t have that it’s pretty evident that you need to be able to fight fire with fire.

It’s no doubt that the Soviet team was much more talented than the Canadian team. They won because the Soviets weren’t used to playing barbaric hockey so their skill was nullified.

I know that’s an old example but I think it holds true to an extent today. If no one has an answer to that kind of play, what’s to stop them or make them hesitate from doing it again? Kadri ran the Kings the game before, Oilers ran the Kings last night.

When are the Kings going to start running players? And even if the Kings can’t stop the other team from running at least the Kings can bang up the other team and equalize the damage.

Kings are just getting hurt left and right, no one does anything about it.

I mentioned this in the other thread, but Edmonton has 40 regulation wins. Only Boston has more. There's no 3-on-3 or SO in the playoffs. They should be the favorite in the West right now.

Best part about that whole sequence is during the actual game they cut to Lemiuex who was stuck on the bench and looked rabid cause he wanted to go out there and fight so bad. Even though he turned into a reputation call penalty machine he would always be emotionally engaged.

Hockey at the nhl level is a violent contact sport.
This fact, like so many others in our society, cannot be talked out of existance.

Iafallo would muck up to the point when his hair began to get messed up.
Watch playerslike alex killorn/sergachev, nick foligno those guys can bring it
Not denying those guys do the job better. But Iafallo went out of his comfort zone last night to fill a need and some credit is due.

Yup. Haven’t seen him look like that on the Kings because he was the only one going out there to try to set a tone even though he couldn’t hit nor fight well. But he was engaged.

I have no idea what Blake was thinking. We’re going to go up against a stronger physical oilers team and no one can stop them from imposing their will.

Blake was a total idiot not getting someone like Deslauriers for games like this. Oilers aren’t worried about the Kings injuring them because they have players like McDavid who don’t give a f*** about injuring the Kings biggest hitter in the first minute of the game.

We all know that was intentional and planned. No one cares.

Are you the same guy who telling me the other game that Iafallo was a tough player?

Edmonton will make the cup if Skinner can just play average let alone steal a game. Their defense played with more discipline yesterday than they did at any point last year. There has been growth within their team in that regard.
Plus Smith isnt letting in shots from the redline at the most backbreaking moments.

Are you the same guy who telling me the other game that Iafallo was a tough player?
No way the only time I talk about Iafallo is to say he sucks. He played well last night though.
