When did the oiler fans become feral? Its disgusting to cheer for an injury or call for one. I want to see best on best 100% healthy. Really is wild to me.

Certainly every board has a few people who do that, this one included. I'm sure there are posts wishing bodily harm on Matthew Tkachuk for example.

In a way though it says something about Anderson. He really became a force in that EDM series and played McDavid hard. Maybe it's a coincidence that this is the second time he's boarded Anderson, but then again, maybe not...

Sometimes it's a fine line between respect and hate. I doubt there's any Oiler fan who wouldn't want Mikey on their team.

Mikey is the only guy cut from the right cloth and he's the one that got crushed. There is a yellow core in this team that makes me sick. You need that gang mentality you hurt one of us you hurt all of us. The cup teams were like pack animals that would destroy anyone that got a even a slightly suspect hit.
Gasvrikov looked really soft in this game.

For as growly as McLellan appears, I know that I often felt as though our team lacked that team toughness and killer instinct when he was our coach.

It's kinda weird how when McDavid didn't get called for the major , you knew it just wasn't going to be our night. They played slow most of the night , didn't get the forecheck going, lacked any real jump and once again nobody can finish worth a damn. Skinner did exactly what Markstrum and Demko did, took two points in a very winnable game.

That was a boarding major, period! McDavid got the call because of who he is and because there was no blood, yet an injury still took place. You could see he was injured , yet the refs spent less time discussing it than they do for where to put the puck after an icing. That exact play has been called a major all year long. Even McDavid thought it was going to be a major.

Just saw some of the trashy Oilers fans gloating and laughing about McDavid boarding Anderson. Pretty telling that they are so ignorant that they double down on trash talking.
I am an Oiler fan and I hate dirt plays/players. Most Oilers fans rather play any team over the Kings.Kings are a good team but the highlighted part was what the kings fan were doing during the playoffs after a slew foot on Draisaitl. Most believe it is karma but it should still be called.

Refs are terrible in the NHL. The game management is ridiculous. Call the game by the rule book.If 1 team gets 10 penalties in a row so be it, even if the game is 8-0.

What point was it getting McEwen if hes not going to get Ice Time in a physical game? Would rather have Lemiuex here. Then again...Byfield hasnt scored a non empty net goal since Jan 21st and Tmac still rolling him out for close to 20 while Kaliyev gets 8 minutes. Not calling Byfield a bust- but how many points would Kaliyev of JAD have on that line?

Durzis lack of D acumen was the dagger....Dangerous pass to the middle- Walker should be drawing in next game. Wont comment about Spence.

Other are right- Kings could have won both and were without key players. That said as we get to crunch time games and so far 0-2 on this trip....have to wonder if Tmac can ever win a big crunch time game or series. Hasnt as of yet in his career and last night finished the game with same line combos as the game started- his in game management is sorely lacking. But at least he took a TO....so there is that.

Which slew foot, Draisatil on Takchuk a few years ago or McKinnon on Draisatil last season.

This might be the most profound post in th e history of HF boards

I am going to be walking around like this all day

Outside the one lucky bounce that Draisaitl got on the 1st goal making that pass, and the McDavid shorty, even without Andersen, they did another good job at shutting them down. They never really got grade the A scoring chances like they usually do. So in 3 games McDavid has 2 goals, no assists and Draistaitl only 1 assist. I guess this is the bright side of a 2-0 loss. someone better bury McDavid in LA...cleanly of course or not.

Since they acquired McEwen, there's been injuries to Fiala, Vilardi, Anderson, and Durzi. All of them were injured with McEwen in the line up.
And McEwen has 1 minor penalty since he was acquired.
He's not a deterrent, he doesn't intimidate anybody, he doesn't protect anybody, he doesn't score, so why is he is he playing?
Agree about Lemieux. I would rather have him in there losing his mind after a hit like that. Or even JAD who can at least create something.

whats the big mystery?
lack of physicality
too small

Blakes goal in assembling this roster has to have been regular season attendance sell outs (butts in seats). i cant believe blake was so deluded by the rule changes that stopped the clutching and grabbing and increasing interference penalties that he thought hockey was going to magically become a non contact sport. even an idiot like myself can look at teams with consistent playoff success (tampa etc) and seethat they are physical, big teams at least on the back end. instead, blake assembled a roster of runts and hired his pal, another runt to coach them. last night is the result. last night was so embarrassing to watch whimps with no response/no pushback it made me squirm in my seat.

i want my team to win championships. last night indicated they were built for something else.

I didn't see the game. But regarding goalie work -- was it really Skinner having an amazing night or the Kings yet again shooting everything into his gut?

He was positionally great. Kings had some excellent looks and he was seeing everything. Very much like the Calgary game, maybe we could have shot one-two inches better, but it wasn't a "kings flubbed everything" evening. Skinner was legit excellent.

This team simply is not built for playoff hockey.

3 biggest players Kopitar, Byfield and Gavrikov do not use their size.

4 small players (Lizotte, Moore, Arvidsson and Durzi) getting regularly physically handled against bigger players on other teams.

Only average sized Anderson plays physical brand of hockey.

The most physical player on Kings yesterday was Iafallo.

Do I need to say more?

I thought Iafallo had a real good game yesterday. Offense aside he played a playoff style and was probably the only one mucking it up.
