You can only give him some credit if you give him some accountability for the screw ups also, which you didn’t want to do. You can’t have it both ways.

I have been very patient with things and cannot be accused of knee jerk reactions but there is a significant issue here. It’s a mix of roster (Blake), players and coach - nobody gets all the blame nor do any of them get a pass. Blake is ultimately accountable so needs to address the other two areas. In my mind this isn’t a problem that can be fixed by one or two trades, it goes too deep. So it needs both a roster shakeup and a coaching change because there must be accountability, even if it would be harsh. In some respects it would be because TM has done some good things but the issues are too ingrained and widespread and I don’t see tinkering at the edges fixing anything. I’d be happy to be wrong though as I like the guy.
I have no problem discussing TM's shortcomings -- what I think is f***ing stupid is rambling on about him being fired. Two TOTALLY different things.

I think number one task for Kings now is to find and to trade for young goalie capable to steal games.

Number two task is rebuilding LA D with physicality, IQ and speed as main points.

Number three is very critical of not trading away the most valuable prospects team has.

I believe the following assets should be available for serious hockey trades:

  • Kempe, Arvidsson, Iafallo, Moore, Kupari, Lizotte and Grandstrom
  • Durzi, Roy, Walker
  • Fagemo, JAD, Dudas and Grans
  • 1st round pick for 2024 and 2nd round pick in 2023.
P.S. Edler should be waived immediately.
Edler has an NMC and cant be waived without his permission... but 7D is prob good place for him to finish up the year

Personally with the way he played with QB I’d take Iafallo off your list for now (I’d have traded him this past off season) and it’d have to be a very good piece to part with Grundström as he’s been a success story for me this year. After that then sure.

Turcotte if he can get (and stay) fit makes moving someone like Iafallo in the summer possible, nothing against IA but it seriously helps with the cap and keeps that average age down. Moore I’d move because I think he’s too expensive to resign and he’s a piece that maybe gets something we need in a straight up hockey trade.

Fine but how do you fix it from here? I don’t think he’s lost the room as such but there’s very little buy in right now. I don’t see how his future isn’t being thought about, as the very least.

I'm not a fan of Durzi. Really like the defensemen be able to play defense. Sure he provides some offense, but he also provides offense for the other team. He may be a wonderful person and a team guy, but he just can't play defense. Maybe convert him to a winger, but definitely remove him from defense. Hopefully another team really wants him and he's moved.

The problem with Durzi is that he's as much of a 2nd pairing LHD as Derek Armstrong was a 2C.

That's on the GM and coach.

He'd be an absolutely excellent weapon as 3RHD and PP specialist with better roster construction and deployment.

Ok, let's talk about TMs shortcomings as seen in your eyes.

hahahahahahaha A for effort

Ok, let's talk about TMs shortcomings as seen in your eyes.
It's nothing groundbreaking than what is discussed here on a daily basis -- deployment, ice time for certain players, in-game management, etc. Do I think it's anything drastically absurd from what most coaches would do....NO.

This is the same coach that got a non-playoff team to 98 points last year. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt until it's proven otherwise -- and 25 games in, at an above .500 record doesn't even come close to that. That's the difference between you and I.

If I had to bitch about something RIGHT NOW, I would be asking why Blake hasn't addressed the defense...or be questioning his choices in general.

A quarter of the season gone and this team is still trying to find its identity, well I think it’s time they begin the search for a new coach.

And it isn’t all on Todd but he’ll be the first to go, this team is bad defensively and some of our forwards have regressed. Our goaltending is bad(a league wide issue) and we need to find some toughness as we’re as soft as wet toilet paper!!
Oh the Kings have an identity...

"Todd doesn't shampoo his crotch that often, as a result his balls are usually pretty salty"

Oh f***ing christ, you keep hitting the same drum expecting different f***ing notes......

Yes, because its a f**** example of a coach making the same f****** mistake and getting the same f***** results.
you think people on a f****** message board are wrong to point that out? Its the same drum because its the same f***** coaching blunder and for some reason you feel compelled to argue about using a myriad of asterisks.

"It's mass confusion for all of us and we better freaking figure it out quickly."

Any interviewer worth a damn immediately asks him, "Who is the 'we' you are referring to?"
Why is this so confusing to everyone? 'We' would be the proper way to address himself AND the team as a singular unit, as in they are ALL RESPONSIBLE, which they all are.. Would you have preferred he say 'the TEAM better figure it out quickly'?

I agree with this, especially the final two points, but there were several just dumbass plays last night by Durzi that had nothing to do with what side he was on. I know he's young and he needs some leash but he's way too cavalier too often against NHL forwards who are bigger, stronger, and not fooled by his balls out approach.

Last night was my first game at the arena this year and seeing him within the context of the whole rink really clarified how often he's out of position and/or attempts the most punk rock move only to turn the puck over needlessly.

And yet, it's the SAME defense as last year, minus Doughty, and Walker....so....are they the problem, did the addition of two good defenseman f*** everything up?

What do you think has changed from last year (one of the best defensive groups in the league, stat wise) to this year, where defense can't even be spelled.....
My take is The Kings offense got a little full of themselves and got away from that defense first mentality. It's not fun to play and you need to work your but off every shift. Obviously they need more size on both the front and back end. I think they need to trade Kempe for more of a tough forward who may not be as skilled have size and good along the boards. Roy would be a solid defenseman for some team and getting a LD in exchange should be possible.

The d-corps is an unmitigated lithium battery fire no amount of water could put out. I'd be fine with the Durzi deployment if the team's mission this year was leaning toward development - and other young players were put in elevated positions.. but having him on the 2nd pair and continue with the pretend to contend narrative - its frustrating to me. He really is a very solid PP QB - very decisive and excellent at getting his shots through... that is a nice weapon.. but if you look at the pipeline on D - Clarke and Spence are going to need spots soon. To me Durzi is the odd man out and should be traded.

I had to watch a horrible musical movie (aren't they all) last night for the wife's birthday. It appears my viewing pleasure was (incredulously) more enjoyable than the Kings game.

But reading the GDT this AM has been awesome. I also find it funny the couple of TM supporters who still do so during/after this game -- this is one time you should sit it out and keep your head down.

Ducks fan coming in peace.. Whats going on with the kings goalies.. Both are not performing well.. Petterson has fallen off a cliff looks like. Do you guys have anybody in the system coming up thats a good goalie?

Axl, please don't talk about the difference between you and I as I'm pretty vanilla around here.

No.

Nope, the Kings goalie situation throughout the organization is extremely bad

No. The Kings quite literally have no goaltender in the entire system prepared to take over #1 duties.

Blake has mismanaged this roster from beginning to end and left the organization incredibly vulnerable in key positions, goaltending being one of them.

Here’s what is funny to me (more like f***ing stupid but I’m trying to be nice)…this is the same coach that arguably could have been considered for coach of the year JUST SIX MONTHS AGO.

All of us knew the defense was suspect coming into the season…all of us knew that Cal Petersen was a question mark coming into the season. Now reality sets in, our fears are accurate and instead we blame the coach for everything that is wrong with the team?

We all bitched and moaned about needing more offense, team needs to score more goals….that’s actually happening and we don’t give TM any credit for that?

We are 25 games into the season, nowhere near a point where anyone would consider the season lost, unless you guys have something to say about it. Ridiculous and you should all be ashamed of yourselves for being so f***ing dramatic. Grow some balls.

This happens to coaches, Axl. Brunette was a Jack Adams finalist last year and was let go, Gallant was as well and Rangers fans are now having the same concerns VGK was.

TM isn't EVERYTHING wrong with the team but the issues are still the issues and he appears to have doubled down on some of them while others have gotten worse, and the accountability and leadership is even worse.

The season isn't lost...yet. But you don't wait until it is to do something. That's like waiting until your business is bankrupt to start cutting budget.

also lol
