Chychrun is trending on Twitter just as the Kings need for a LHD is glaring like a supernova. Can't be a a simple coincidence.
The Kings aren't one player away from fixing the shit they've been doing. Wasn't Fiala supposed to turn the team around?

WTFiala! Where is the offense from this team? I recall when TMac was coach of the Sharks, their offense was never high skilled but balanced scoring when they were a top 10 team. Kings have some offensive talent, but I feel there is too much underachieving.

Too many penalties being taken because of chasing the game and not taking care of the details.

Flat out, the Special Teams sucks. Does Doughty know how to execute a one-timer slapshot?

Quick's game looked a little off today...

Todd’s a true hack to point to the defensive performance as an improvement. Seattle played last night and lost in OT to the Ducks. Less than 24 hours later, they are throwing more hits and blocking more shots than the Kings.

They’ve built a 2 goal lead comfortably mid way through the game, while the Kings are firing away on low danger chances. Then in the third, they put up 9 shots to the Kings 10.

Seattle didn’t need to get 30 shots plus to win the game. And it’s not like the Kings took advantage by cranking up their shots, with 27 total. 5 power plays and you get less than 30 shots against a team on a back to back. I guess context only counts when you’ve got at least a couple days to come up with excuses.

No one has taken the reigns away from Quick, Kopitar, and Doughty and they need to. They're not the guys you can lean on fully anymore. But that's not going to be a coach to do it. The players have to assert themselves and if they are asserting themselves, then the coaching staff needs to recognize that.

I really appreciate all the awesome access Jesse provided us with all summer, but I mentioned at the time that there were some touches of satisfaction in moments in those interviews that were a little off-putting. The Fiala trade is part of that, not just pride in what they achieved last year, but a little bit more than confidence in their plan.

They just weren't ready to go for it. They aren't good enough. They have to recognize that they overachieved last year, they have started this year with the hubris of a team that thinks they are better than they are.

Honestly, I don't think this brain trust has ever really read the terrain correctly. So many decisions made to latch on to and sustain former glories instead of trusting their ability to create one of their own.

The Kings now really aren't that different from a Hollywood studio turning out the same sequel every year. Sort of a The Slow and Laborious.
This "brain trust" is part of the "just make the playoffs and anything can happen" club.

Blasphemy!

I'm going to send you my Hall and Oats playlist on spotify and you will love me for it!
I love H to the O: they are Philly Soul and not Yacht. Not sure how to post YT links from my phone but you need to watch the Yacht Rock series on YouTube. These guys coined the term and put out some of the funniest skits ever.

Kings are a mess and they need to quit playing the respect 12-14 bullshit with drew and kopitar.

Everyone needs to earn their ice time. Drew does not belong on pp1 at all. He can’t get a shot through to save his life. Honestly I think he should be playing 2nd pairing minutes until he remembers how to think the game instead of forcing shit that is no longer in his skill set.

Kopitar does not belong on pp1 his brain still thinks he just burned Pronger on the outside last week.

Walker needs to be taken behind the shed and…

Grundstrom needs to play on 4th line until he gets rolling.

Arty needs to play with PD and TM on line 2.

Byfield needs pp2 time and to be paired with GV and AI.

Kopitar, Kempe, and Fiala need to play until they get some chemistry going.

Todd needs to roll his first 3 lines evenly minute wise.

Edler is too old get Toby back up here to play with Clarke.

Durzi needs to play score and then get traded for
Maximum value so we can bring Spence up.

BL needs to be put on waivers.

We need to pick up a guy who is 6’3 and hits anything that moves for that 4th line.

They need to stop taking f***ing penalty’s !

Kings really needed to have solidified the starting line up before the end of the preseason and get a game or two in before the start of the season. Clearly they're still in preseason mode.

Every line with the exception of byfield could anything going but let's just stick with the same lines. Tm is a true idiot

What are you talking about? Every line and d pairing was changed during the game. He put Arty on the best line with Byfield and Vilardi, AI with Kopi, Fiala with Danault, and Grundstrum on line 4. Clarke played with Doughty. The Kings play did not improve with these changes.

It's never happening with TM. He isn't the guy to push a team over the edge. Too nice. Too player friendly. Unfortunately, Blake wants a coach like he preferred when he was old as shit like 11, 32 and 8.
At the end of last season Blake promised to address team missing physicality issue.
He really did something about it…

I was at a band practice so couldnt fully focus but first question was Grundstrom on the 2nd and Kaliyez on the 4th. Seeing the end of the game led me back to my main criticism of Tmac- was there any in-game adjustments? Thats my main knock for him as a Coach- he starts with a game plan and that plan seemingly never changes no matter how poorly things are going.

Cant think of a worst start to the season...good thing there is 80 games left and road trip is best thing for the team. Walker/Roy just brutal, Edler not too much better and the rest not playing to their ability.

Looking forward to the Reign tonight...free ahl preview fyi.

Kings are not known for the fast starts lately maybe its guys getting back to the beach and thinking extended vacation (For those that go elsewhere in the off season)

2018-2019 - 2-8 ( had a 5 game losing streak games 8 to 12)
2019-2020 - 4-6 ( 1 3 game losing streak could have had 2 if not for OT win again Vancouver)
2020-2021 - 3-7 (Covid year) (two 3 game losing streaks)
2021-2022 - 4-6 (6 game losing streak)

so is anyone really surprised the Kings yet again are starting out poorly?

Clearly the way this organization approaches the start of the season results in some poorly played hockey. I don't know if it because of line juggling, I don't know if players are not conditioned properly.

I looked at some clips of these seasons, different players but still same sloppy undisciplined play

But clearly there is a pattern here, and it is not a coincidence.

well that was a turd burger.
I like how the debate before the game was who should take Arvidsson's spot in the top six between Kaliyev and Vilard, and even though I was pro Vilardi I thought it was good that either way one of those two was going to see more minutes....nope Grundstrom.

My issue with Lemieux is he needed to try and stir shit up earlier in the game when there was a chance for a comeback and to get guys going. Also the Kracken guy did not even drop his gloves. I still think Lemieux is a twat, but he is the only Twat we got.

Flip side, I was ok with Vilardi mixing it up at the end. Showed he was pissed off and he didn't do anything egregious like punch a guy in the face who didn't even engage. Definitely did not do enough to get jumped by two other guys.

F it ALL!
