Bjornfot,Moore,Grundstrom and Durzi for Muzzin. Someone get fleeced and it sure wasn't LA for a change. Glad the Lombardi days are done especially late when he went all out for another titled but whiffed badly

He was?
Muzzin was traded in 2019 for Durzi, Grundstrom, and a first (Bjornfot).

Campbell and Clifford were traded in 2020 for Moore and 2 third rounders.

Do u recall if that was mostly a salary dump for mid prospect and 2 3rds? I dont recall the dynamics of that trade

But LOOK at the EDGE on this guy...does nothing positive in the play but shoots a broken stick at Doughty after and fails at that! What a stud!
Right? What audience is he talking to? Jones seems like a good guy, but he has always been low insight and bland (no offense to our poster w the same name). Honestly I cannot watch the TNT broadcast its even a step below NBC's old broadcast.

Both trades were for rebuild purposes. Sending off aging assets for younger players and future pics
I guess Im wondering did Clifford have value for Toronto or was the value just for the Kings moving salary (ie Toronto took the player to make the deal happen not to fill a need).

Yes . Clifford had value. Especially to a team looking to take that next step.
Clifford is a very that has won 2 cups. he brought toughness , experience, and a winning smile to a team that couldn't get out of the first round.

It turns out that experience , toughness and winning smile weren't enough, but he tried.

2 3rd's and Moore for a pretty solid goalie and Cliff who has value.. i guess i questioned Cliff value based on the return the King's got. Edit: i mean Moore turned out fantastic, but at the time - he prob worth another 3rd.

Defense is cool, but I know for a fact that I will die before I see a Kings player score 100 points or 50 goals again. Cheers and enjoy watching McDrai!
Hahaha true. But the kings are built for success.

If we lose McD and Drai at some point, we will be a bottom feeder again

At least I have my Colts to cheer for……….

The sports world has not been kind to me 😞

I feel like the one former player that gets a ton of unwarranted praise was definitely Kyle Clifford. He didn’t do much of anything before he was moved off the team. He was a really good teammate but not much of a hockey player.

I guess the icing on the cake is that the Kings have gone just as deep into the playoffs since those trades as the Leafs have.

The best game I can remember him playing was Game 5 against the Rangers. The guy was flying all night like he thought he had some skill or something. Fitting that he assisted on the GWG.

He played the role that pepe is - but with less bs... same as LaPerriere who I hated when they let go.. some guys have intangibles set the tone for other players and give pride to the team. Lappy did that, Cliff somewhat, pepe not so much

Reading through the Oilers game thread, there are some level-headed posters, but also seemingly a bunch of 12-year-olds that blame the refs (or even the league) for everything bad.
