Missed the game last night. Oilers fans and 99.9% of Canadian media are upset of that hit? Really? Edler did nothing wrong on that hit. He maintained a straight line. McDavid caused the knee contact, if there actually was any.

just another edmonton miracle, writhing around the ice long enough to see if he got the call then he pops up like barrie did earlier

love how they're acting like edler could do that intentionally, the guy is molasses slow, no chance he could make a decision that quickly

Moores gonna get paid
Someone has to move on,Iafallo perhaps. Hope that cap starts to rise tomorrow otherwise the Kings could be upto their eyeballs in poop, especially with Vilardi needing to be signed too and Anderson is betting on himself

He looked very strong last night--big, fast, effort. Guy is a load to handle in a game like that and he's only going to get stronger.

Figures we play the defensive team in Calgary and get a preseason style sloppy 6-5 game and play the offensive team to a grindfest technical battle.
Kupari has looked great - he just needs to clean a few things up on the defensive end but that's going to come. Once he puts on some additional weight and with that speed he will definitely be a handful for the opposing team.

Watching the play live, it looked like a penalty and slightly bad play by Edler. But upon the reply, Edler actually did not much wrong at all imo. He clearly did not move his leg and/or go for the knee. It was actually McDavid the way he reacted just prior/upon contact -- moving his legs and opening his body up. That gave the appearance of something that was not there. At worst a minor penalty, but certainly not something to get your panties in an uproar over. But there's a valid argument to be made that it was not a penalty at all.

Pretty shocking, and stupid, how unhinged it made McDavid the rest of the game. Even Drai too.

lol, I like Petersen's quote from last night:

“At the end of the day, these guys ended our season last year, so there is a little bit of payback in that,” Petersen said. “Again, we play this team as hard as any team, so it’s probably one of our best rivalries right now. We don’t really like anybody on that team, and I don’t think they like any of us, so it makes for a great game and it’s easy to get up for.”

Glad to hear that they were motivated. The Oilers are an easy team to hate. It was a good game by Petersen, I hope he builds on it. The Kings tied for their second-most all-time record in blocked shots at 29. Good team defense and they kept Petersen insulated and in control of his net for the most part.

I don't think Kopitar can run an offense anymore, but I am happy with his defensive play. While not as dominant as he used to be, he still tied for the team lead in blocked shots, and was a good reason McD and Drai were kept off the scoresheet for the first time in 10/11 games.

I am still in the middle on TMac. He is in a very tough place and isn't performing terribly with what he has been given, but also there is definite room for improvement. The obvious glaring spot is Kaliyev and defensive utilization and matchups. Kaliyev needs more ice time period and our defensive unit needs a lot of help, but that is also a little out of his hands as it sounds like he is being forced to keep Walker out there and there isn't a matchup sequence with this group that doesn't have major weaknesses.

Loved the effort and result though and thrilled for Moore. Starting to fear for his contract situation. When Iafallo gets back, they might end up pulling a Walker and putting him up in the top 6 again to showcase for the deadline. Not sure if that contract is movable, he would have to continue his production from the start and maintain it.

Guessing Mommy was skimpy on the hugs.
That likely is it because whenever people give him counter arguments he completely ignores it. He probably wants attention.

Really good game last night. I think getting rid of Kassian was a bad idea

The Muzzin trade was a 1st (Bjornfot), Grundstrom, and Durzi.

The Campbell/Clifford trade brought over Moore and two 3rds (Laferriere/Kirsanov technically, but I believe one or both of the actual Leafs picks were packaged to move up).
Even better we fleeced them twice. LOL.

Clean hit by Edler, McDavid tried to sidestep it and hurt himself. No penalty should have been called on Edler. Its only a matter of time until this is a repeat theme with McDavid.

And probably wasn’t skimpy enough with the cocktails.

Nick Nickson is a national treasure
I mentioned this either last season or the season before. But I was listening to kings talk and a caller called in and asked if Nick Nickson wanted to do TV since Bob Miller was retiring, and Nick said he went to the front office folks not sure who, and told them he was interested in replacing Bob Miller but they said they wanted to go another route. That route ended up being our great Alex Faust. Imagine Going from Bob Miller to Nick Nickson a perfect transition but guess the organization didn't think so. What could of, would of, should of.
