Fiala is a hell of a talent, and while he has certainly made this team much, much more exciting, I'd argue with anybody that says he has made the team better.
You can't be serious.

Our biggest issue last year was offense. Through 12 games, we are one of the highest scoring teams in the league and Fiala is tied for first in scoring on the roster.

Obviously, we have defensive and goaltending issues, are we blaming that on Fiala?

Unbelievable.

Fiala has been a great add, he's been exactly the type of dynamic playmaker the Kings have been missing. To think the Kings didn't need to address scoring/playmaking is ridiculous. To get to the next level, the Kings were going to need a Fiala type. Now the attention must be turned to second and third pairing LD, and goaltender

Fiala also already has a ton of 1st assists. Assists that led directly to goals.

I already knew the dude can score but he has already shown he has a ton of playmaking abilities.

If that was not on display for you last game with that wicked pass through the seems to Vilardi for a tap-in-goal on the delayed-penalty last game then I don't think we are watching the same game.

So TM decided to go with 11/7 because they thought it would be a good idea. It's not the reason they lost, but it's odd to change that after such a solid performance in St. Louis.

Benching Lemieux probably wasn't in the plan, but after the Blues game, it was warranted. The guy thought he was out there to line rush and create high risk scoring chances every shift. Not sure if JAD was hurt though as to why he didn't play.

And Brock Faber is most likely going to make a hell of a lot more difference in a playoff series than Kevin Fiala, to answer your earlier post.

Kirsanov is now the only defensively oriented prospect in the system with a reasonable chance of making it, but sure, these points in blowouts are really making a massive difference on a .500 team... that now may not be able to afford Trevor Moore while Kaliyev toils on the 4th line. They bought rims instead of repairing the transmission, which has been Blake's M.O. since he arrived.

For all we know, Faber may stay in school for all 4 years, add a year of ahl in there too, you're looking at 3 to 4 years before he plays in the nhl. Hell, he may have gone the FA route too if he decided he didn't want to play in LA. It was a good move maximizing an asset that had questions around him.

Are will talking about the same Brock Faber who didn’t want to be on the Kings. Fiala is a great add so far. Kings need to just get a lot better defensively

I find it strange that I agree with you

So should any prospect be traded before they play regularly in the NHL? They all have questions.

There was just a narrative that he wanted out because he didn't sign in LA. But, as we see, he didn't sign for his home state of Minnesota either.

With Clarke, Spence, Durzi, and Grans all young and playing as RD, what's the problem with Faber even staying all 4 years in there anyway? Right defense was the one position they weren't in a rush to add someone.

Even so, instead of leveraging a position of strength to address a weakness (LD or goalie), they used one of their top assets to acquire another forward/winger with the apparent intention of playing him alongside Kopitar.

To their credit, they moved Fiala off fairly early in the season and started leveraging their depth. However, we're seeing a major dip in defense, particularly on the left side.
