really lame game all around. Sadly I think most of us saw this coming and I guess to be fair to them they've played a lot of hockey and coming off a back to back it makes sense. But we've just seen it too many from this team where they'll have a stretch where they look unbeatable and then you have games like they have tonight where they just don't have it. Just frustrating all around.
regarding the 7 D decision. I mostly didn't like it for the fact they did it on Clarke's 9th game. Maybe they were testing it out so they could find a way to get Clarke and Walker in the games at the same time. Seems pretty evident that this is not going to be a viable solution going forward
It's become pretty untenable.
Doughty's been good but was bad tonight.
Anderson has been good but was bad tonight.
Roy has been up and down.
After that? Precipitous dropoff.
-Durzi is getting overplayed, played on the wrong side, and used on the pK despite 6 other dmen in the lineup. The more I see that, the more I think he's the odd man out/traded as they have no clue how to use a guy who is clearly a specialist.
-Clarke...same. They just cannot help but sabotage themselves.
-Edler, bless him for his service, he just cannot get all the way back from that nasty leg injury at this stage. He should be a #7 at this point but we're so short on LHD he's stuck.
-Walker...I think he'll be okay longer-term but it's clear he's not all the way back nor will he be in short order NOR should he be the 'solution' at LD
Blake's had time for evaluation, it's time to at least either call up Bjornfot or Moverare until a more significant move can be made.
But mostly, tonight was just a (sadly predictable) bad game. It's like the ice was bad only for the Kings, many many self inflicted wounds, not one King was really 'good' tonight so I'm gonna give them a break for the first time this season due to the schedule and possible illness.
The 11/7 decision was still inexcusable, though.
Must win at Chicago.
