Quote of the night: "if you don’t have any legs, you better have your brains and we didn’t have either. " TMac

"also I dynamited the lineup that worked the other night because I f***ing felt like it so that quote goes for me too, suck it losers lol." TMac

You know what's good for your legs AND brain? Not shortening the bench to 11 while still playing some forwards 19-20 minutes.

TMac is losing it.

I like how when he was asked why he went 11/7 his response was basically "Because we did, neener neener neener"

anderson is a number 4D man on most contending teams, DD play has dropped off so much and he plays big minutes. the 2nd line is even more of a disaster with durzi playing his offside and he's already lacking on the defensive side.
And Brock Faber is most likely going to make a hell of a lot more difference in a playoff series than Kevin Fiala, to answer your earlier post.

Kirsanov is now the only defensively oriented prospect in the system with a reasonable chance of making it, but sure, these points in blowouts are really making a massive difference on a .500 team... that now may not be able to afford Trevor Moore while Kaliyev toils on the 4th line. They bought rims instead of repairing the transmission, which has been Blake's M.O. since he arrived.

Fiala is a hell of a talent, and while he has certainly made this team much, much more exciting, I'd argue with anybody that says he has made the team better.

Didn’t mind the 11/7, especially when you actually look at the ice time for the forwards, it’s the most evenly divided we’ve seen possibly ever. Wasn’t even remotely the problem. Like Kaliyev and Grundstrom essentially splitting Lemieux’s minutes is a bad thing. Vilardi got 20, sign me up.

The problem lies in the 7 D. I think they rolled with that setup because 1) On a b2b they hoped to keep all the D fresher to deal with the heavy pressure from the Stars, which is fine, but also 2) they’ve no idea what will stick back there and don’t trust half or more of them in elevated roles (nor should they), so they spread the minutes. The coach is flailing, and the D core is floundering.

Even still this could have been overcome, if the coaches and personnel could just, for the love of Christ, institute even middling result on special teams. It’s getting shockingly bad. Scarily bad. Even scarier than the goalies. Which is in itself a nightmare.

Next the Kings will bring up Bjornfot,Grans and Spence and go with 11 Defensemen. Can't be any worse than what happened last night. Can someone tell me why Lizotte is on the PK. That should go to a defensive specialist like Stollie was. Win the draw, block shots, take the man and chip a goal here and there. Miss the player

Lizotte, Grandsrom and Durzi should not be on the PK.

The ice time had the best distribution of any game this season last night. Kopitar 5th in ice time and DD at 20 minutes is usually what we clamor for. It surely disrupted some other things, but the distribution was perfect for a B2B.

Wasn’t going to matter anyway, Dallas knew their advantage going in.

PK1 should be Danault, Moore, DD, Ando right? other PK fwds Kopi, Kempe (or Iafallo when he's health), D Roy Edler.. not sure why Lizotte or Durzi ever see time on PK

That passive diamond formation on the PK is terrible. Does the coaching staff think that concept will be the new "4 forwards on the PP" or "drop pass to the trailer PP zone entry" strategy or something? Maybe the Kings will be good at executing it next season at this rate.

it's not so much the loss overall that bothers me, it's that mid-game collapse. that's a ghost i thought they had left in the past

PK definitely was a shot in the foot though

it started with one bad pass by doughty. he forced a bad pass and everything went down hill from there. Anderson doesnt take that penalty if doughty make a simple 3 foot pass, instead of a home run crossice into the skates that bounces right into our zone. He was really bad last night.

I think the tragedy of last night's game is that Cal played well, and if we pulled out a win as a back-to-back road underdog, he would've had a huge boost of confidence. I almost wish he and Quick had been switched in that regard (STL vs. DAL, I mean).

So TM decided to go with 11/7 because they thought it would be a good idea. It's not the reason they lost, but it's odd to change that after such a solid performance in St. Louis.

Powerful Todd Experience minus DMT. Does all this dumb shit consciously.

I think he fell apart in the second but he was solid in the first. He started sliding around so much and was never set in his movement on any of the goals. He was good first period but his mental fragility is almost comical if he wasn’t our goalie.

Nobody knows how much of an impact Faber is going to make. It's moot anyways because he wanted to stay in Minnesota. I don't think there's anyone on this board that wouldn't make that trade.

The right side is extremely crowded. We have the assets to make a trade and I believe that Blake will do it at some point this season. He has proven that he is capable of adding what the team needs.
