FLA may get by the Leafs, but their D-men, and overall team D is pretty lousy for a Cup contender. Bob can’t bail them out forever.

The Canes have the best D group of the teams left. They play such a disciplined game, and are just relentless on the forecheck. And unlike the rest of the league (it seems) they can PK, and protect a lead. As always with them, they just need a bit more offense in key moments.

The amount of high danger chances being given up by the other remaining teams is pretty alarming - that doesn’t look like Cup worth play imho. Dallas and VGK may be able to tighten up.

I think the winner of the Carolina/New Jersey series is my Cup Favorite. Obviously that's looking like Carolina right now, but NJ was down 0-2 in their last series as well.

Vegas is looking good out West, but not sure if they could handle the Hurricanes or Devils' downhill styles. I suppose there's a chance that Draisatl and McDavid just activate god mode at some point and force them to the Cup finals, but they haven't been able to yet.

Any of the 8 teams left are dangerous.

That said, anyone in the West (save prob Seattle) could beat anyone from the East. They are all different, but all have some significant dynamics on their side.

That’s also said, as long as it’s not the Devils, I’d wager the East team will be the favourite. Edmonton may be the loan team that would be favoured.
