I'm 6'2 and wear 34+1 Vaughns. I prefer the smaller stuff idk how guys move with pads that bigRon Hextall was 6’4 and wore 34” pad. Now 6’2 goalies are wearing like 36+6. It’s crazy. Goalies these days can literally go in to a butterfly from post to post and cover the whole goal line with their pads. Baffles the mind how as much as the position has changed and trading and styles that they are still getting lit up like skinny pad 80’s stand up goalies.
Love this one.

Right? Especially when this guy is a local Calgary guy that does much better work. I am sure there are lots of great airbrush artists across North America but just in general it seems like Daveart has a bit of a monopoly going with NHL masks, even though he keeps pushing out similar uninspired work year after year. Why would anyone go to DaveArt when you can find an artist who does this.
Has Dave’s art been reading these threads? His mask design is getting simpler and less cluttered and the product is looking better as a result. Less is more Dave, take it easy on the effects and cramming in a billion details.
Charlie Lindgren used to be a Vaughn guy and loved the Vaughn iceberg graphic. Those look exactly like some Vaughns pads/glove/blocker set. They just slap the Bauer logo on them because of contractual obligations?

He recently switched to Bauer and wanted to keep the iceberg graphic going.
It is similar, but not exactly the same, as the Vaughn iceberg graphic.
Lindgren had a similar set with the Blues.
And for a time he had a mixed Vaughn/Bauer set:
