Roster Notes: for tonights game

While there are thankfully no changes to the B-Sens injured list, they will be without captain Dillon Heatherington, who didn’t play last night after being called up to Ottawa. Coach Mann will shuffle the lines a bit looking for some offensive chemistry, as Belleville looks to improve on their 24 goals-for this season, which is second-best in the American Hockey League. Tyler Hinam and Zach Massicotte are the only healthy scratches, while the injured list includes forward Viktor Lodin (six-to-eight weeks, ankle sprain), Jayce Hawryluk (four-to-six weeks, wrist), Cedric Pare (one-to-two weeks, upper body) and Phil Daoust (two-to-four weeks, shoulder), along with goaltender Antoine Bibeau (one-to-two weeks, groin). The Senators also returned goaltender Logan Flodell to the ECHL’s Allen Americans, now that Mads Søgaard is healthy again.

Did Jarventie return for the third period last night? I'd imagine not given the way he was helped off the ice, but I didn't watch.

It looked liked it could be a long-term injury.

Did losing 1F and 1D in Ottawa cripple Belleville's depth too?

The organization is doing their best to make sure the Belleville team is prepared for life with the big club by having half their good players be injured as well.

Roster Notes:

The Senators have added a couple of American Hockey League veterans to the roster this week, with six players still out due to injury. Forward Cole Cassels has re-joined the team on an AHL contract for the rest of this season, after starting the year in Sweden. The former Oshawa Generals standout, and OHL and Memorial Cup Champion, has played 55 games for Belleville between 2019 and 2021, with eight goals and 17 assists. The Sens have also added former AHL Rookie of the Year and MVP Cory Conacher on a professional tryout. It’s hoped that the Burlington, ON native, who has 330 points in 354 career AHL games, will be able to add some offensive punch, with players like Roby Jarventie (week-to-week, knee), Viktor Lodin (week-to-week, ankle), Phil Daoust (week-to-week, shoulder), and Jayce Hawryluk (week-to-week, wrist) all out of the lineup. Antoine Bibeau (week-to-week, groin) and Jonathan Aspirot (month-to-month, offseason shoulder surgery) are the other injured Senators, with Cedric Pare back healthy, but not in the lineup tonight. Defender Jacob Bernard-Docker was called up to Ottawa earlier today and will be replaced by Xavier Bernard, with Mads Sogaard starting in net.
