If Makar walks at the end of this contract that's very bad. Cup or no cup, getting only 8 seasons out of a generational draft pick is simply not enough.

By the way, it's statistically harder to draft a player like Cale Makar than to win a Stanley Cup. There's a cup winner every year but there's not a Cale Makar in every draft.

We already have a possible next generational Dman coming up in our roster and when he will be Makar's age (24) then we will stop talking about Makar so much and concentrate on our new toy.

Nashville fan here, Turris broke his foot twice and ribs once in the season after, likewise Subban had a serious neck/back injury. Johansen was a victim of Arvidsson sucking and Forsberg missing 10-15 games.

Cale is going to make like $15M+ on his next deal. Calgary might not be able to afford him anyway.
